Dunkin Donuts changing its name in January.

They've been working on this for a while. They had a couple stores in California I think where they test marketed the name.

Seems like a waste of money, then again I'm not in marketing

Would not be surprised to see them offer more prepared food items and try to increase sales throughout the day, even into the evening. They want to be viewed more than just a "donut" store.

Dunkin what? Yoyos? Could you be dunkin Duncan?

Herbstreit is buying a group of stores and calling them Dunkirk.

All employees will have to pass a vision screening.

The article I read back when they piloted the Dunkin name was that they want to feature their coffee more now.

Live in MA, the birthplace and hub for Dunkins. Been a long time since anyone called it Dunkin Donuts. It’s always “I have to stop at Dunkins first,” or “I’m making a Dunkins run, want anything?” Coffee, bagels and breakfast sandwiches has been their go-to now, for quite awhile, unless you’re getting Munchkins for the kids after an athletic event.

lmao....Why not..it is such a pleasant little word!
It sounds like a nickname, right? "Hey, Tits, come here, man. Hey! Hey Tits, meet Toots. Toots, Tits. Tits, Toots."

It sounds like a snack, doesn't it? Yes, I know, it is a snack. But I don't mean your sexist snack! I mean New Nabisco Tits!, and new Cheese Tits,Corn Tits, Pizza Tits, Sesame Tits, Onion Tits, Tater Tits. "Betcha Can't Eat Just One!"

I can honestly say I’ve never heard anyone call it that. Must be an MA thing.
But then I’m not a fan of their coffee or their donuts.

Here in Florida, everybody calls it Dunkin Donuts. Never have we heard anyone refer to it as just "Dunkins".

Isn't that a Carlin routine? Sounds familiar.

I can honestly say I’ve never heard anyone call it that. Must be an MA thing.
But then I’m not a fan of their coffee or their donuts.
It is a ma thing which is all the more reason to stick with the original.

The thing about red Sox fans is we all thought they were cute through their years of misery, but they actually thought we liked them.

In eastern MA, there’s probably a Dunkins for every 5K people. It’s just so easy and convenient to get used to the coffee because it’s on the way to wherever you’re going. It becomes a pit stop for energy, or a missed breakfast. The townies call it Dunks or Dunkies. The kids call it Dunkin Donuts (because they want donuts). We “high class” folks call it Dunkin or Dunkins.

well other than the munchkins, the donuts are horrible. there coffee is good but the amount of sugar they put in is pretty crazy. my wife got addicted to dunkin coffee a couple of years back when they opened one down the street. she didn't believe me when i told her it was bad for her. so we went to wawa and had the dunkin coffee with us, started cracking and putting in sugar packets to the wawa coffee, at SEVEN packets of sugar when the wawa coffee was still not as sweet as the dunkin coffee she made me stop the experiment. she doesn't drink dunkin anymore except on rare occasions. i think they try to morph into a more Starbucks type menu with some sandwiches and other small food items.

There are two within a half mile of my house and they do quite well. Can anyone answer if DD ever make the donuts on site in their stores? They really arent very good these days.

The company itself is a “ma thing.” First store was in Quincy, MA. HQ is in Canton, MA.

60% of its revenue comes from beverage sales. Which means, between beverages and non-donut food offerings, donuts are a relatively small portion of its business.

The only thing that stays the same is that things change. Let's get used to it.

I think there's still a select few stores that make them on site. The rest have them shipped in. http://archive.boston.com/business/gallery/dunkindonuts1006/
Don't know if that's still up to date, or if they've all converted by now.

But only kids eat donuts, and Boston Creme donuts and the seasonal goofy ones seem to be the only things they want (other than Munchkins), and you can't screw up a Boston Creme as long as the creme recipe is right.

You can order without sugar, or with less sugar.
