Dynasties are often hated simply because they are so great. Understandably, people get tired of seeing the same team winning it all over and over and over. Plus, who doesn't like an underdog? So there are a lot of folks rooting for us to lose. I'm good with that, it's a sign of respect, that is hard-earned by our coaches and athletes. Penn State is the Gold Standard right now in wrestling, and rightfully so. So some dislike simply cannot be avoided, when you're the best year in and year out.

That said, there are certain traits that can develop in the fans of dynasties that create further dislike among others in the sport. These can be avoided.
These include:
1. Arrogance - believing we are entitled to win every match, dual and championship simply because we are Penn State.
2. Hypercritical fans - When fans overly criticize young athletes who are making tremendous sacrifices and busting their asses every day to be the best they can be, simply because they are struggling with whatever issue, or because they are not an All-Time great a la Zain, Nolf, Bo, etc.
3. Lack of appreciation and gratitude - When fans take success for granted and don't appreciate what they have. I'm a New York Jets fan, folks, their last championship was 1967, and since I was born that year, I wasn't able to fully enjoy it. For Penn State, I'm extremely grateful.

So...not being sanctimonious, but just saying let's be humble, supportive of all our guys and appreciate what we have in this team. Enjoy the ride, come March, I'm pretty hopeful it will be 9 of 10!
WE ARE!!!

Jets fan eh. My grandfather was good buddies with Joe Klecko’s father. They worked in the shipyard together. That was one giant man.

Joe Klecko was one of the most underrated players ever - he was awesome

No doubt! He was fierce and tough as nails. He gets less credit, in part because his move to the interior DL, where there is less glory. Loved him!

Don't have to be a dynasty to find a large population of #2s. I present our football board as exhibit A.
