The Eagles agreed to a one-year deal with wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. Jeffery will earn $14 million, according to the NFL Network.

Jeffery, 27, is a boon for the Eagles. The two-time Pro Bowl receiver was the top free agent on the market and gives the Eagles a No. 1 wide receiver.

The Eagles have agreed to a three-year deal with wide receiver Torrey Smith. CSN's Derrick Gunn has confirmed the value of the contract is $15 million.

Also. . .

The Eagles have signed former first-round guard Chance Warmack to a one-year deal. Warmack's deal is worth $1.51 million with a $500,000 signing bonus and he can earn another $1.25 million in incentives, according to the USA Today's Tom Pelissero.

Warmack, 25, was the 10th overall pick out of Alabama to the Titans in 2013 but has been a relative disapointment since entering the league. He played the last four years in Tennessee, making 48 starts. His 2016 season ended after just two games because of a hand injury that landed him on IR.

These deals appear to be shrewd on the Eagles' part. Smith is similar to Kenny Stills at half the price. Let's see what he does with a decent QB tossing dimes. Jeffery is a good risk/reward play on a one-year deal. If he is healthy and excels, then the Eagles control his rights and can extend him. If not, then they avoid the classic free agent WR trap contract.

I believe Warmack is a depth play similar to Wisniewski last season. Maybe he turns into a starter, but I wouldn't bank on it.

At least we now know they're going CB and RB (in that order) early in the draft.?

Eagle fans, good luck with Jeffery.

When his mind is right, he can be as good as anyone in the NFL. But in Chicago he has a reputation as a selfish player and missed a lot of playing time with questionable injuries. Not a great team-first player.

Again, that said, maybe the change in scenery will work for him and the Eagles because when he's good he's very very good!

AJ will have a lot of incentive to play well. I like the signings for all of them.

I don't think they go for a RB. I see a DE and a CB in the first 2 picks. The Eagles need pass rushers.

Howie can always make the good signings, but the real test is the draft. He's an awful drafter.

not to hi jack this thread but something I read this AM....'If the Birds miss the playoffs for a third consecutive season, neither Roseman nor Pederson is ever again likely to occupy his current role in Philadelphia or anywhere else. Desperate times .'

Do you agree with this statement?? Because I don't, I don't think they start over again.

OK, Chase Daniel?
well the problem I have with that is changing horses in the middle of the stream. I think, and I don't know who 'they' are relative to the Eagles , but 'they' thought they were close to winning, that they didn't need a tear down to the team, they had Bradford as QB, and they needed a back up for him, as Sam was always getting hurt, so they signed Chase Daniels. Then 'they' changed horses in mid-stream, and decided if they are going to be great, they needed a great QB (I think that is the one legacy Chip left them with, that great Superbowl winning teams, had great QB's) , so now they go get Wentz. I agree Chase Daniels is too much for a back up, but I don't know what else they can do, I think they are trapped.

Congrats to Wiz - I really like what they've done in the interior of the line. Warmack has a great pedigree, Wiz is proven at center and guard, and Brooks showed a lot last year when healthy. Kelce might be on the way out.

Really like what my Eagles have done at wide receiver - will allow them to avoid the potential trap of taking the best wide receiver on the board next month instead of the best overall player. I hope they go corner in the first, but it seems to be a deep draft for corners. Have real needs at CB and RB still.

Howie has always been a shrewd free agency guy, but hasn't drafted worth a damn. I like their new-ish scouting director, though, so we'll see.

He'll be Howie's next scapegoat if the draft doesn't pan out. And Lurie will buy it hook, line, and sinker.

I don't think they go for a RB. I see a DE and a CB in the first 2 picks. The Eagles need pass rushers.

They could go DE too, but I suspect they split their first two picks between affecting opposing QBs (CB or DE) and a stud RB to help take pressure off of Wentz.

The Cowboys showed how well that can work last season. It also takes pressure off of the defense. Pederson's offense needs that stud RB.

Kelce out at Center, Wiz in?
That's my guess, though the knock on Kelce was him being undersized. Wiz isn't exactly a road grader. Suemolo (sp?) is and could slot in there, allowing Wiz to slide out to guard. If Barbre goes, then that may be the plan.

Didn't they re-sign Barbre though?

I thought his agent was granted permission to seek a trade on Barbre's behalf. I did a quick search and it appears the Eagles did opt to keep him for 2017 at his $2.25 million cap number.

Agree. If Dalvin Cook is available at 14, I don't see how they can't take him.

Uh, he had to stay.
I stand corrected. I watched the Fl State show on Showtime, I thought he was the one that stayed, but I think Have him confused with the DE??
Anyway Cook is a good back and would to see him in Eagle green, I think he would help Wentz a lot.
