Wind speed drops by half, power generation drops by a FACTOR of eight.
Wind speed doubles, have to turn it off to secure from destruction of wind speed.

Even at most ideal wind speed, To deliver the same power as the Hinkley Point C nuclear plant – 3,200 million watts – it would require 5.5 million square metres of turbine swept area.

5.5 MILLION SQUARE METERS of turbine area. Let that sink in. If I've correctly done the math that is equal to 2.1235 square miles.
