The reason why I felt Ciarrocca was a tremendous hire, was because of what I just watched in the Independence bowl and all year with Miami. I know many people on here wanted the so called splash hire with Brady from LSU but looked what happened with Miami. When Diaz was hired by Miami last year he went out and Enos from Alabama. He was the splash hire because of the success he had with Tua, but he worked with superior athletes but had no experience calling plays, so it actually ends up being a gamble. Same could be said with Brady at LSU, coaching a great player in Burrow has success with superior athletes but again, has never called plays, so at the end its a gamble. With Ciarrocca, PSU gets a guy that has experience calling plays and in my opinion has had success coaching lower tier athletes, give Kirk the super athletes and lets see what he can do. Yes, we don't know the answer but I feel this was a safer choice but also the correct choice and in the end will be the splash hire we all wanted.
