Someone in the Den posted some "talking heads" segments discussing Saquon Barkley, and boy Eric Mangini is a dope. No wonder he can't keep a job, and is out of pro football.
You guys can go listen to the segment, but he said Saquon has "good" but not great hands citing the one pass he dropped (probable td) against Michigan. I can't remember another time last year where Saquon actually did drop a pass.
And then the blow hard next to him started railing against Saquon's rushing totals saying that Saquon "disappeared" in many of last season's games. Huh, What?
Neither he nor Mangini ever provided "context", its a Run/Pass Option offense, and when 3 defenders are tackling Barkley whether he got the ball or not, you pass. Further, Mangini criticized Saquon because he was far more effective running outside (insinuating he can't run inside). Huh, What?
Again no context- very avg, young, O-line, run blitzing LBers between the tackles. And there's plenty of footage of Saquon running between the tackles as a freshman. And then you got the Iowa game where he ran wild when the defense played honest.
This is analytical "malpractice"or lazy journalism, probably both.
