This kid is a STUD....

Rivals just moved him up to #108, and he is going to keep moving up across the board.

https://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/playerrankings/_/class/2018/order/true

Fields apparently ran a 4.59-second 40-yard dash and a sub-4.2 shuttle when he camped at PSU. 6-3, 221, 4.0 student. Can't find his stats right now, but remember seeing he was at 69% completion percentage while running for over 1000 yards.

Fields is good friends with 5* RB Ricky Slade as well. He said he started working on Slade the day he verbaled. Slade has said he wanted to decide sometime in the spring, but his December visit to PSU might be interesting. It's about his 4th or 5th visit to PSU in last year.

This is exactly what Ross Tucker said on the keystone podcast. He has no idea how Justin Fields is not a 5* recruit based on his junior tape. Ross Tucker said he's Athletic, has a canon arm, and super accurate on his tape. I guess ESPN has the same opinion of Fields as Ross Tucker has.

That's 2 Top 10 Recruits on the ESPN 300 with Micah Parsons. And 6 for 6 ESPN 300 Juniors. This maybe the best class we've had in years.

Fields should continue to rise as he goes through the spring and summer camp circuit - especially with his athleticism at the combine events. He should pretty easily make The Opening and be in the Elite 11. That will force Scout (who I barely count anymore) Rivals and 247 to catch up with ESPN's ranking.

I'm kinda excited but February 2018 is a loooong way off. I thank you.

2018 has the potential to be the best recruiting class in the history of Penn State football. Of the top 9 players in the country per ESPN we have the only two committs! Also, we are on the list for some of the others in the top 9. By 2020 we may be looking down at Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson, etc. We could well become the country's elite program replacing Alabama.

Ohh man, looking at that list makes me giddy! I mean who cares that Feb 2018 is far away.. I would rather have them committed now than not. Fields and shorter will be working other elite recruits to come along in this class, one being slade. Having them commit this early will only give them more time to work on other recruits.

Just a note of caution. In the current cut-throat recruiting world, Feb. 2018 is a long way off.

It's all relative, regardless of the "current cut-throat recruiting world". Compared to tomorrow, it is a long way off. Compared to 3016, it is not a long way off.

I wonder what recruiting will be like in 3016.

Good to hear about Fields but it is crazy how far apart the rankings are for some players...Wade is ranked 9 overall by Rivals and 168 by espn!!!

i got to watch Slade play while I was running the chains at one of his games. He has great vision and is one heck of a back. Hope he ends up with us

No. The space time continuum bends for Penn State recruits.....if he had committed elsewhere February 2018 would be "just around the corner" and there would be no time to get another QB.

Damn. I hate this. I hate us.

Watch his HUDL video. Justin loves to throw deep (like someone else he's been watching).

It looks like this kid could play another position if we needed him to do so...built like a truck.
Fields is a quarterback and we recruited him to be a quarterback. If we can't find room for him at quarterback, he would (and should) transfer.
