Excellent Article On Gesicki

http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post...eads-with-transformation http://es.pn/2huZ5oM

"Compared to Michigan tight end and Mackey Award winner Jake Butt, Gesicki has more catches (47 to 43), more yards (668 to 518), a higher receptions-per-target rate (70.1 percent to 68.8) and an equal number of touchdowns (4)."

Hmmm.....

You'll find a ton of comparative stats where PSU players were not honored while players with lesser stats were (McS, Bell). The B1G champions had far less on first, second and third team all B1G than both the second and third place teams.

From the article it sounds like Gesicki's handed in his papers to the NFL and is going pro.

handing in his papers meant he signed up to be evaluated. As i understand it, the evaluation this year is a) probable first round b) probable second round and c) third or worse (meaning, stay in school). I am sure he's not a first rounder, and have to feel he's a questionable choice in the second round.

Of all the potential "eligibles" on the PSU roster, no one - IMO - has a better chance of improving his stock by staying in school for another year
The negatives to Gesicki's game are eminently "fixable" (as opposed to issues of size, speed, etc)

FWIW, the majority of players who request an "evaluation" do NOT enter the draft
Also, the "evaluators" have been incredibly accurate in assessing these applicants - 90% (more or less) accuracy in determining if the applicant will be a 1 or 2 round pick (which is all they now do - after that they only issue an opinion of "not a 1 or 2 round pick"......ie, "stay in school")

You never know until you know, but I can't see Gesicki getting a 1 or 2 evaluation......but who knows?

You'd think the conference hates us or something, but that can't be right. They obviously treat all schools equally.

Here is Gesicki's one-handed catch against temple. Great athleticism there, but how about McSorley avoiding the rush, stepping up into the pocket, and setting his feet so quickly?

I hadn't seen this before. They don't have Gesicki listed as a top 20 TE in the upcoming draft. If you're not top 20 for TEs where are you in the overall draft?

They also don't have Marcus Allen listed but this site has him listed #4 FS for 2018. They also have Gesicki listed as #4 TE for 2018.
