Fantasy League?

ill keep the spreadsheet or take turns doing it if others want to share. someone could create a google doc that can be pinned up top and updated weekly

dont care about scoring, will let to others to define.

we could do the draft on consecutive days. round 1 is day 1 and so on from the 1st day of practice till rosters are filled. all could be posted on here for people to see, make comments about and provide great insight why drafting PD3 is not a good idea.

could do $20 (or whatever is agreeable) entrance fee that goes to WFL and the winner gets street cred????

also would need to consider system for pick ups/waivers....again leave that to others to define.
I would play along, especially with the funds going to WFL! I like the idea of doing the draft over several days, could even pick the order and do it on the board so no one picks the same people.

Here is another possibility...Might be easier logistics wise.

You put up some money and we then could donate it. But the idea is that each week you pick a match and choose the team that wins. If you are correct then you live till the next week. So for the next week you pick another match but it has to be a different team. You cannot use the same team twice. If your correct the second week then pick for the third week and so on. The winner is the last man standing. We did this with the NFL one year and it was fun. I could place it on a spread sheet and organize it. Would not be too hard. Option would be using point spreads but I bet no one would survive the year.

I'll try to gather some of the rules suggested and accumulate for tourney director crop. Have some free time over the next few days to look into dunkes website also.

I texted with dheckert this morning. His website that was created for the previous league wont work now.

that being said I dont think keeping a google docs pinned at the top would be that problematic, to update and check for correctness weekly.

Tom does a last man standing pool which is fun. But I think a last team standing pool might not be as hard as initially thinking. dual outcomes are sort of easy to predict outside a few top 10 match ups. kind of what makes duals not as interesting to the common fan in my opinion.

Lol crop. Be happy to assist in tracking scores. Need to come up with rules. Touch base with DYoder on scout he does a great contest also.
I have a spreadsheet built for the Scout contest (KYPSW) that by the start of the season will be almost 100% fully automatic, except for putting the initial picks in. Whoever is running this contest would have to build the scoring into it to use the sorting capability. Honestly, it would probably be easier to build one from scratch. But, if you want to look at it, shoot me an email address.

Ideas accumulated. Your up Crop.

FORMAT

There will be ___ teams. Every team will draft One / two wrestlers at each weight class plus 2 flex spots making for a 12 or 22 wrestler roster. Only 10 wrestlers will be considered starters and will all accumulate points for your team. The league will be split up into 3 separate categories. There will be a champion for the regular season and a champion for tournaments and an overall champion that gets the trophy/belt. Party an nationals for those who make it on Crop.

Draft: random draw 1 St pick gets first pick first round and last draft 2nd round ect...
If you are unable to draft at your turn you will get the highest ranked wrestler at your first open weight based on Flo rankings. So if you have a 125 and no 133 you get the highest ranked 133 to keep it moving.

SCORING

Scoring will be pretty simple for the regular season. It will follow basic dual meet scoring with additional bonus points for wins against ranked wrestlers. Intermat Division 1 wrestling rankings will be used as the basis for bonus points. They are updated every Tuesday and there is a link to them on the right hand side of the site. Week is Sunday-Saturday.

Scoring is as follows –

Pin – 6 points
Tech – 5 points
Major Dec. – 4 points
Decision – 3 points
Loss Decision – (-3) points
Loss Major – (-4) points
Loss Tech – (-5) points
Loss Pin – (-6) points
Multiple matches a week are averaged.

Example Zain wrestles Iowa and Ohio St. Same week Tech fall Sorenson and Fall Jordan he earns 5.5 for the week.

Weekly bonus
1 16
2 12
3 10
4. 9
5. 7
6. 6
7 4
8. 3

Tournament Bonus
Pick a pre new year tourney team and post new year team.

average placement for your team members are score same as weekly bonus. Average finish is the point total. Cortez wrestles In the Nittany lion open and Midlands. Wins NLO 16 points takes third at midlands 10 points so is awarded 10 pre new year points.

Scoring periods will go Sunday-Monday. Scores for the week will be tallied on Sunday nights and posted to the site by Monday if possible. Scores will be tallied for the entire up until the conference tournaments. The team with the most total points at that point will be crowned regular season champion.

ADD/DROP

The add/drop period will be open for 24 hours every Monday at 12:00 am through Tuesday at 12:00 am. For those of you who find this confusing, it means that add/drop period is Sunday at midnight until Monday at midnight. Add/Drops will be on a first come first serve basis. If either wrestler involved in the add/drop is scheduled to wrestle on Monday the claim must be submitted before that wrestler competes. There will also be a limit for weekly add/drops at 2 per week. To submit an add/drop go to the ADD/DROP tab on the homepage and follow the directions. All add/drops will be displayed in chronological order at the bottom of the homepage.

Just putting pen to paper. Hope this helps crop. Should be able to track via speadsheet.

Holy shit, I just thought it'd be a dope idea, but ya'll really ran with it.

A few things I (personally) would tweak, but it's not my decision only, obviously:
The tournament part doesn't make sense to me. I'm dense, though.
The weekly bonus with placements next to it are for guys who beat a wrestler with that ranking? or guys who are that ranking?

I'll probably never get to Natty's, so partying on me will sadly have to be done in-spirit. But I'm all about donating an amount. A spreadsheet can't be too tough to create.
Perhaps we could have members total themselves up and post?

Trying to find a night to do x amount of rounds would make things easiest. I think 15 wrestlers would be plenty. Guys can bump up one weight (for instance, you could run Zain at 157, Sorenson at 149 in the same week if your 157 didn't have an event or something)? Thoughts on that?

I thought Andegre already had something like this on his site?
Maybe I'm thinking of it wrong, but I thought there was an option to make a private league.

Crop go award and make changes you want. That was just a Sample. Copy change what you want and paste. Luv the idea.

Their picks (though not draft order). Willie drafted Nick Lee -- hmmm ...

As great as Snyder is, he's only going to wrestle 8-10 times during the regular season. I'm not sure how wise it is to take him over someone like Bo, Zahid, Hall, Suriano or Heil.

Then again, I don't know their scoring setup.
