FC: Brandon Short running for BOT.....

In all fairness, it has been extremely difficult for the alumni-elected trustees, who are on the inside, at least to a certain degree, to make a positive impact due to the power structure of which they are not a part. PS4RS is, of course, farther removed. However, PS4RS has managed to bring together and mobilize like-minded alumni, those who love this university and who demand the truth. That is an accomplishment. PS4RS also has been highly influential in alumni trustee elections to advance their charter (which some admittedly do not favor). Furthermore, due to their excellent coordination, PS4RS has managed to outlive rival sycophant-based organizations. As a result, such sycophants have not been able to win alumni seats on the board.

It is easy to sit back and throw stones because we as alumni have not gotten everything we have demanded. However, that does not mean that the effort has been wasted. We are better because of the efforts of the alumni-elected trustees since 2012 and PS4RS. There is, however, still much work to do. Current and future alumni-elected trustees and PS4RS know this, and I believe they remain committed to the cause.
That might be your best all time post.

Extra string latte this morning?

Anything Joe related aside, what have been some of the BOT’s major accomplishments since 2011? Outside of marginalizing board members, reducing transparency, and naming buildings after each other of course. Have they done anything to make Penn State better for anyone other than themselves?

Excellent question.

Wonder if PS4RS will continue to support their folks...or do they even matter anymore?
I would hope that nobody still votes based on the instructions of the gang of housewives. Do they still mostly post about squirrels?

@lubrano

I saw that Warren Hartenstine is also planning to run. He is, or was, the AD at Coastal Carolina. He is an ex-player from the late 60s, brother of Mike Hartenstine (one of the baddest badasses to play here), and from the Allentown area originally, I think.

My guess is that Hartenstine will also be pro-Alumni interests, pro-A9 plus Capretto, and a strong advocate for JVP's rightful legacy to be embraced. I don't know for certain, though.

Do you have any more insight on Hartenstine and him running for a BOT seat? Don't know if you know him well or not, but is he someone you would endorse?

Any early insight on any incumbents who are not running for re-election? I know this will all play out soon, but curious minds want to know.

Thanks.

Also - Robert Bowsher (sp?) from CA is running again, I see. He had a strong platform but finished a distant 4th last year, I believe. Imo, he emphasized his personal circumstances more than other candidates, and that ended up overshadowing the stronger points of his candidacy.

So we know of 3 candidates already, besides any of the 3 incumbents up for re-election. I don't know if the 'bad guys' plan to run anyone; maybe they feel it is not necessary since there will not be any voting power for the A9+ anyway. (Bastards).

Short and Hartenstine could be interesting candidates. Could be an interesting campaign.
