For those of you who don't think the fix is in against us, please read this article. Just a few snippets below. As most of us know, with Delaney and Alverez in charge, we have no chance. What the team accomplished this year (and since 2012) is nothing short of a miracle given the ass clowns who run this conference.

Delany gives Alvarez some information on the Friday games; he’ll make sure to hand-deliver or mail the same details to all of his athletic directors. But for now, he says farewell to Alvarez, and leaves the former coach hollering at the field at missed tackles and big receptions alike.

It’s a topic that comes up later in the night as Delany sits in the Big Ten’s officiating command center alongside his wife, Kitty, and coordinator of football officials Bill Carollo, who likes to show replays of controversial targeting calls to gauge the room’s opinion before sharing his — the right one.

Reading comp not a strong suit.

Original insults of fellow posters not a strong suit. Half of your 37,000 posts probably include a similar retort.

Everybody's entitled to their own opinion, but I find it funny that the man who wanted Penn State's head on a platter and who openly lobbied for OSU to be in the playoff the morning before the decision, is sitting in a replay booth with an official who is openly soliciting reactions from others. Us reading comprehension challenged conspiracy theorists are openly mocked for even entertaining the thought that central command is somehow influencing the outcome of games. I also find it funny that Delaney and his caporegime including his chief deputy Barry Alvarez, a member of the CFP committee who happened to be sitting front and center right next to Condoleza Rice, gets a personal briefing before all the other athletic directors prior to an historically important matter concerning Big Ten football. For all you other reading comprehension challenged conspiracy theorists, put on your tin caps and follow me further down this narrow path. Is it a coincidence that so many other big coaches, including the Wisconsin coach who was just clowned by James Franklin and Penn State the night before, voted in a public ballot and had us out of the playoff picture? Is it a coincidence that the Western Division of the Big Ten, which includes the school of Delaney's chief caporegime, Barry Alvarez is so weakly constructed so as not to include rival national powers Michigan and Michigan St. (which would make total sense) as well as Penn State and Ohio State? It is the contention of this reading comprehension challenged conspiracy theorist that not only do we have to deal with Delaney, a Big commissioner and a Penn State hater, quickly moving to centralize control over athletic departments in the Big, and that Barry Alvarez, who is no friend of Penn State, is becoming the defacto commissioner of Big Ten Football.

Keep digging. Per the article:

a. the information Delany passed on to Alvarez pertained to the scheduling of Friday night football games. I expect the ADs of other schools got similar information;

b. Delany was not sitting with a replay official who was reviewing calls of a game in progress. He was in the Big Ten media center in Chicago (replay booths are in stadia where games are taking place) reviewing film of questionable plays that took place who-knows-when with Bill Carollo, the Big Ten's supervisor of football officials, who is not a replay official himself, and others. This session took place some time at night after the Northwestern-Wisconsin game on 11/5.

Now don't you have a pizza parlor somewhere to shoot up?

Actually, I know a money move, BUT the worst decision Joe EVER MADE was to join this "crap hole" conference. Should have stayed as an independent as ND is. Notice ND did not join the Big for other sports.
The only choice we have is to beat OSU and Michigan EVERY year to gain ANY respect. So we have to beat the teams and the "corrupt" Big "officials". And the "paid for" media.

except that before we joined the B1G the storyline was that we played a "weak Eastern schedule" and going undefeated didn't mean anything

Yep, the commish waltzing around the officiating command center is not a cause for concern.

Just kind of like Alvarez attending practice doesn't influence Chryst, or Trump roaming around Trump Tower won't influence Ivanka, Eric and Donald.

Now go scroll through some more pathetic insults to lob.

I know, but has THAT changed at all ?? We go undefeated in the Big and do not get the MNC, we win the Big and do not get to play for the MNC.
I do understand the need to join a conference, but has not been a "fair" ride.

Ha! Command Center. It's a basement .

I don't disagree entirely, but we win either over Pitt or Michigan we could not have been denied. We've never been one of the favored few- if you're not ND, tOSU. Mich, Alabama, Texas, USC or OU you aren't getting any favors- that's just how it's always been.

Why would it be a cause for concern?

He's the commissioner. He should be overseeing the command center when he can to make sure it is running smoothly.

Why is it a cause for concern when nothing of significance is going on? Guess you have a problem with Delany using the room earlier to watch a World Series game with other P5 commissioners? This "officiating command center" is nothing more than a room with a bunch of TV monitors and controls. It's not as if it contains nuclear launch codes.

I expect Alvarez to influence Chryst in many ways. He is, after all, Wisconsin's AD. Similarly, I expect Delany to influence Bill Carollo in ways that result in better officiating. If you have evidence that Delany is instructing Carollo to fix games, put up or shut up.

I'm just saying these things raise further questions. I don't mean to start a war with you. How often is he there? With whom does he speak and about what topics? I'm just an reading comprehension challenge message board poster. I didn't realize I had to adhere to the Federal Rules of Evidence when posting. Sheesh.

You cite an article that outlines Delany doing nothing more than the everyday functions of a conference commissioner as evidence that the "fix is in against" PSU and you wonder why you're being taken to task? Look, Delany is an asshole and is nowhere near as intelligent and competent as he's often portrayed. He gets away with that because he works for ninnies like Indiana Fats. But there is a difference between that and being corrupt

Nowhere did I call him corrupt and by "the fix is in" I am implying that when you add up the various pieces and forces in the Big Ten it is obvious that the conference is run by a few power brokers that do not have Penn State's best interest at heart. The subtitle of the article in fact points to his influence. Do I think that he is in the officiating center making actual calls, of course not. But I do think that his presence and his power structure is such that his message gets through to those who work for him. The same goes for Alvarez. Btw, I certainly don't mind being taken to task, what I'm find distasteful, is the insulting nature of your posts. But that's on you.

Who are these power brokers and how are they influencing the way that the conference is run to the detriment of PSU?

I think we're going in circles now. If it's not obvious from my prior posts, there's no point.

Just read the article. My opinion??? Someone's wearing a very big tin foil hat. And it ain't Delany.

Seriously. That has to be one of the most non eventful, boring, ho hum things I've ever read. Basically just describing his housekeeping duties.

Love those reruns.
This guy was also spied in the B1G Command Center

I didn't find anything remotely objectionable in the article, but then, I'm not looking for ways the B1G is going to screw us, because I don't think the B1G is trying to screw us.

As to the decisions Delany made re PSU in the immediate aftermath of the NCAA sanction announcements, I didn't like them, but I thought they were sensible decisions for the B1G as a whole, And that's his job -- what's good for the Conference as a whole, not what's good for Penn State vs the collective interests of the 10 or 13 other members.

Every other conference would hire Jim Delany in a New York minute if they could.
