updated no tag will become FA...

The Jaguars website considered it unlikely that the team would use the franchise tag on wide receiver Allen Robinson this year and that insight into the team’s thinking was correct.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the team has informed Robinson that they will not be using the tagahead of Tuesday’s deadline to put it into effect. That leaves Robinson on track to become a free agent next week and he’ll be able to start talking to other teams about deals when the “legal tampering” window opens on Monday.

Robinson caught 201 passes for 2,831 yards and 22 touchdowns during his first three seasons in Jacksonville, but only caught one pass last season before going down with a torn ACL in the season opener. That injury surely played a role in the Jaguars’ decision and it will likely impact the kind of deal Robinson winds up signing this offseason.

If no one’s willing to offer a big contract so soon after the injury, he could take a page from the book Eagles wideout Alshon Jeffery used last year by signing a one-year deal in hopes of landing a fatter deal once he shows he’s back to being his productive self during the 2

I would love to see the Steelers get ARob and then part ways with their troublesome WR.....

I wouldnt be surprised if the Steelers look to draft Gesicki and/or Marcus Allen.

They seem to have a strong liking towards Nittany Lions over the years.

What Penn Staters? James in 2015. Before that I think AQ Shipley in 09 and then kranchick in 04 or 05. We almost never take Steelers players. In the 90s I only remember Witman, Perry & Thompson. You focused on Ham & Harris? :)

Honestly, Gesicki & Allen fit needs but I'd be stunned if they don't take a LB. Unless they think Allen can play ILB in passing situations

you do know there is more than 1 round? and there is a possibility that one or more of the mentioned will be available after round 1.

I wasn't talking about strictly the draft, but UDFA as well. So yea sure those.. along with Derek Moye, Greg Garrity, Justin Kurpeikas, Scott Paxon, Jon Witman, etc. etc. You can even throw in Scrap Bradley.

I'm not even a Steelers fan and I rattled those off to you.

Really! Why?

Its just funny how some people think Bell isn't worth 14M as best RB in the league, but Robinson who missed all of last year is worth 15M.

Is Robinson even a top 5 WR honestly? He is good, but no way he is Brown, Jones, Evans, Beckham. His numbers dropped off in 2015 and his drops increased.

I like ARob, but no way is he worth that kind of money. Really nobody is.

I'll take the blame for that. A lot of people here are acting as though they're both first round picks. I took the post to mean in the first. My fault

1. I listed Witman. 2. UDFAs are often loyal--doesn't mean we like "Penn Staters".
The Steelers don't draft many Penn Staters....hopefully they do this year. Personally, I'd like Apke and Campbell in the mid to late rounds

Name another NFL Franchise that has had as many "Penn Staters" over the years...

I wish my Eagles had as many as the Steelers have had, not realistic though.
