fc OT active shooter right now (10:25 am) at OSU on CNN no link

Home land security you are trained to fight back with anything you can ,as a last resort

Text sent out from Tosu emergency management:

“Buckeye Alert: Active Shooter on campus. Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College."

Like the fact that they mention the word "fight" in their text.
We were taught (I've taken CRASE classes I and II from the Franklin Co. Sheriff's office here in Columbus) to ADD (Avoid, Deny, Defend)--which is pretty similar.

I can hear the police helicopter from my office (I'm about a mile away).

7 have been taken to the hospital according to live segment on cnn.

Police on air right now is guessing the 7 could have been injured due to people running and getting trampled, but he doesn't have any real info.

Edit - 8 injured, 1 critical.

Prayers to OSU. As a country and society, we need to find a way to dramatically reduce the frequency of these incidents.

Two people in handcuffs arrested as well at Lane Ave Garage. Still looking for other suspects (one at Lane Ave garage). SR 315 exits closed in campus area.\\Edited

Been watching the local Columbus news. First heard about the shooting when driving back home this AM and the radio DJ broke into the middle of a song to announce the active shooter alert.

Glad my daughter graduated from there this past spring. Due to the significant amount of crime on and around the OSU campus we were always fearful that something might happen to her. Lots of muggings, assaults, etc. She texted me when this was happening and said where this occurred on campus is where used to walk to class all the time (she received the alert on her phone even though she is not a current student).

Local news said a red SUV intentionally crashed into the Chem E building and 2 people got out, one with a knife and the other with a gun. A fire alarm was pulled around the same time. Also 2 people just led away from the nearby parking garage in handcuffs. Possible terrorist attack?

Oh. Tough guy alert. Man Card validated for today. Thanks. Come again.

Maybe if you were not so enthralled by all kind of fake news sites, you would know that this is the new approach to these situation. Maybe you would know that the fight part is the last resort: a reminder that, when all else fails, do not just stand there and take the bullet. Fight. It is the third and final option to use. Not the first. Not the second. Third place.

News people are idiots. Stating some victims going to Grant hospital because it is a Level III trauma center. Grant is a Level I which is the top category that receives the most complex.

Others to Riverside. Also know Mt. Carmel West not far from Grant also is a Level I.

Police have said they are not sure they have all perpetrators yet.

Let's not speculate. Let the police do their job and sort things out.

I'm not sure these events are always terrorism because they may or may not be politically/socially motivated.

11:37 a.m.
Watching 10 TV right now and one suspect is dead, looking for another in the parking garage. Several transported.
Report is a fire alarm was pulled in the building and then a vehicle rammed people that evacuated. Two people got out of the vehicle with a machete and another with a gun.
No details on the types of injuries. Only one victim listed as critical right now.
This started around 10:00 a.m.
