A survivor’s tale. Believe the author here is a PSU grad...anyone else have any harrowing Mother’s Day take out stories? I ordered from a local steak place and they ran a pretty tight ship. They did forget our starters (which I caught before leaving) and also our desserts (which o didn’t catch until after we were finished eating at home) but pretty good all things considered.

Enjoy! Click link to read the rest on twitter.

Why is he making fun of people that run flooring companies? His profession polls much lower than those guys.

I think the bigger 'insult' is 'suburban Karens'. I think the joke about 'mid-level tile/floor company CFO' is that these are guys who have pretty good jobs but are at the mercy of the expectations set by their wife (which, if a 'Karen', are unattainable anyway) and are getting Olive Garden despite hours of wait time and mounting frustration. Good floors are great to have.

We did Eddie V's take out. It was awesome. Pulled up and called at my given time and they brought out the food.
This is by the KOP mall. The car line was very long for the Cheesecake Factory however.

I worked DoorDash on Mother's Day. I surely have a few stories. Sit down restaurants running 1-2 hours behind was about par for the course... but that didn't stop a number of overweight Karen's from demanding to speak with the manager... leaving a short-staffed restaurant even more short-staffed... brilliant move, Karen

I honestly don't know why people like "Kevin" (which is the joke name Tiger and Rory use with eachother not dissimilar to being a "karen"). Is "Kevin" really that superior? He's at the OG himself. It is frustrating; you are trying to show mom a good day and the restaurants are clearly in disarray and don't know what they are doing yet.

Why can't we all just be a little patient with eachother? I mean, its much better than listening to celebrities in mansions or corporations tell us that they are "here for us". I like his posts but I thought his "takes" were juvenile and unfair.

Pretty sure Kevin was the only guy being patient. I get it though - Mother’s Day is hard enough (as a dad trying to meet wife/mom’s expectations) without all this nonsense. Kudos to the staff for plowing through.

It can’t be understated how fantastic this explanation is. Brilliant

That's right. I mean, do people going to outback, PF Changs or Pappadeaux somehow better people?

At least the Olive Garden folks have some restraint...

Assuming that is Springfield IL? If so, of a population of just under 200,000 people they've had 275 cases and 25 deaths.

https://scdph.org/

It doesn't give deaths by age by county, but for the state of IL it looks like the 2,372 of the state's 3,448 deaths are over the age of 70 (about 70%, if you add those 60~70 it goes up to ~ 87%). No telling, of the rest, might already have had underlying conditions.

My wife’s Italian. She visited one once with me, looked around and asked what kind of food do they serve here?
my mother in law moved to the USA from Sicily when she was 13. Her second favorite place to eat is Olive Garden.

We got Troegs take home pizza kits on Sunday. No issues. My sister got the Mother's Day meal (whatever that was) and also had no issues.

Why anyone goes to an Olive Garden on a normal day is beyond me.
I'm hoping the pandemic relieves us of these bastions of mediocrity, like Olive Garden, Cheesecake Factory, and many others....but....I realize a vast swath of our population goes out to eat, not to dine, these places do employ quite a few people...

Because Vinnie’s Pizza doesn’t sell gift cards at the grocery store?
Olive Garden is good enough for me. Salad is good (though soggy if you don’t get to it fast enough), breadsticks are good enough, entrees are good enough. I’d rather have a local Italian joint (but those aren’t easy to come by in Kentucky) or Fazoli’s, which is essentially the same food at 1/4 price.
On a related note, I just watched this a couple of days ago. Pretty funny.

Love Fazoli’s!

We went to Mad Mex on Cinco de Mayo to grab take out. The Karen in front of us was all up in it with disgust. When she got her order ( to be fair, I thought they did a good job ) She demanded to see the manager and then started berating this poor guy over how she has a compromised immune system etc. Blah, Blah, immune system, do a better job, yadda yadda.

WTF was she doing standing in a take out line with light rain falling during the pandemic if she was immune compromised? Whack job.

Horne's an egotistical ass seeking attention and believed Chambers should have been fired (despite Horne basking in last season) and believes Franklin has underachieved.

I never heard of him until Sunday night.

he's a kid IIRC. I believe he just graduated law school.

One of the problems - and it was pointed out further down his thread - was the staff lowballing wait times. They get you “pot committed”, so you don’t leave when you realize they lowballed the wait 2-5x.

If they told you the truth about the wait upfront, you wouldn’t even order
