FC/OT: Song Girl traditions that are cool....

Aside from being the hottest cheerleaders on the planet, USC's Song Girls are great because they do a few little things I think are cool to help stand out.

1. Rose on sweater for Rose Bowl - Baller. Big Ten reps should do something similar.

2. Red & Gold Nike Sneakers (not traditional all white cheering shoes) - Could PSU do black/white ones (like Joe wore)? Would look great IMO.

3. Traditional uniforms (actual sweaters in the same style worn decades ago) that would look great in any era. Also, go sans sleeves when things get....hot.

As for Penn State, we can do better than this, right? What about a white sweater with a script 'State' or block PSU, navy/white skirt, and black/white Nike's? Would look great I think.

Didn't a poster used to a "potential PSU Cheerleader" poll every so often? Was that Front Range? It was always a girl in a skimpy blue bathing suit or some such thing.

How about a tournament of the cheerleaders from the top 8 teams in a playoff?

Winner based on a popular vote, but the electoral college, based on the posters with the top 10% of all posts on this board, actually decide the winner.

Could be a good project for some up and coming wannabe moderator (looks at IllinoisLion).

twas I that used to post that poll. It was titled New Blue Band Uniforms, and featured a collection of lovely women in blue bathing suits. Folks got to vote on which bathing suit they preferred as the next Blue Band Uniform.

Been several years since I made such a post/poll. I've thought of doing so again -- perhaps your mention will motivate me to do so at some point this winter.
