Believe he was let go. AD Smith said due to lack of progress on the recruiting trail - they lost their #1 recruit in April.
Gotta say - thought he was pretty good. When he had Oden (2x HS player of the year) and Conley - same high school, same recruiting class, and ended up at OSU - I thought he would be unstoppable with OSU, and they were going to build a dynasty.

Yeah, I heard Matta was fired as well, which surprises me.

Sounds like he has had some serious health concerns that weren't helping his situation and certainly would be continuing to impact him ongoing. Seems like he was a decent guy, wish him well.
