Finally the 2022 Roster

That's a strong and deep team. To the extent that it matters, Joe Lee is listed at 165 only.

RBY Senior?? Uh oh rumors will ramp up again.

Probably not they have Brooks as a Jr. The roster probably isn't adjusted for eligibility/covid

Hmmm - Joe Lee 165, Matt Lee 149/157? Cut problems? Damn PSU admissions.

Absences are limited to Kurtz @ 184 and Carmenatty at Heavy.

Before we get all spun up, I have a suspicion the roster will see some serious edits on the next week or so. Probably some cut and paste errors from last year too.

That crap really bothers me. Why can’t they get this stuff right? It is like articles about potential starters who have already transferred but worse because it’s the staff/administration who puts this out. This team does so much right….this type of stuff is an exception.

Let’s go for an “all Lee” roster. Come on home, Spencer!

I think all schools rosters are like that. Pitts roster is the exact same way listing Phillipi and Bonocorssi as Seniors

They definitely do a few things that leave me scratching my head.

Mason Manville is a Jr. Lol, He is gonna be Dr Kemmerer's age by the time he is done.
Well, he's 24 and I'm guessing that the Army will want to get a few push-ups and pull-ups out of him before too long. I don't think they care that much about his eligibility. He''ll graduate this year, so my guess is that will be it for him.

That's how it is everywhere in all sports. If he comes back, he'll just be listed as a senior again next year.

Iowa's team this year is composed of "gradual" students rather than graduate students. They grow older and collect social security but never graduate.

They could also be called "PA West" since 1/2 the team is stolen (I mean borrowed) from PA

I see him listed as 157/165.

Yes, they made the change on that one quick.

As a side note I wouldn't mind seeing during one of our very early duals all three Lee brothers in the lineup at the same time. Might be a first across the whole NCAA, but the 'stunt' would cost Matt his redshirt so it probably will not happen.

Arent matt and Alex in the same class? If he’s beating Facundo, start him, pretty simple, either way we are gonna have a TF at 165, so I would guess whoever starts the first dual is our guy for the year.

Why cant he take a RS later??

Edit: Finesilvers

Weren't there like 10 Finesilvers in Duke's lineup at one point? :) Actually, I think 4 of them might have qualified for the NCAAs one year if I'm not mistaken.

Don't know if the Dixon triplets ever got into the lineup at the same time either.

Yes. All three qualified for NCAA's the same year:

All the brothers have qualified for next week's nationals in St. Louis, with Cole joining his two brothers at NCAAs with a third-place finish Saturday. The Sanderson boys are going to make ISU a tough team to trip at nationals next week." It helps out to wrestle on such a good team, because everyone here has the same goals to win, both individually and as a team," senior captain Cody Sanderson said.

However, if you dig in young Cael Sanderson's past, the youngest brother had a 127-3 record in high school. "I don't like to say the names of the people I lost to," Cael Sanderson said, half-jokingly. Leave it to Dad to blow his cover. "The last match he lost in high school was his junior year to Joe Heskett (current Cyclone teammate and 165-pound All-American), but the ref later admitted that he had made a wrong call," Steve said. "But he'd kill me he knew who I said he lost to."That secret should have stayed inside the family. All the other ones have.

And the Hawkeye roster was inventing weight classes a few years ago — had Stoll manning a 215 (or was it 225?) slot.

Luckily, botching of schedule listings is far less common. As long as guys on the team are actually showing up on the roster, I’m satisfied.

And sometimes the inaccuracies just become something to chuckle about. Remember when the PSU site kept listing Cenzo at 149? Made all the more fun by the ‘walking around >200 lbs’ rumor . . .
People know we need stuff to gossip about and get all riled-up over. 😉

The following note appears at the top of the roster page...

"Penn State Athletics chose to advance classes FOR ALL SPORTS as though 2020-21 was a normal year of eligibility. Student-athletes listed as redshirt freshmen in 2021-22 did not officially redshirt in 2020-21, but would have in any other normal year. Extra years of eligibility will be marked on the back end of student-athletes’ career (a “+” symbol will be added on the end of “Sr.” to indicate the extra year of eligibility being used)."

For RBY, since he was mentioned above, he'll be listed as Sr.+ next year, same as Nick Lee is listed this year.

I too noticed many teams doing it similarly. Not hard to follow at all imo.

Hate to admit but I was looking at Iowa’s roster, for reasons I can’t say, but they’re the only team to actually lists the wrestlers HEIGHT. Dammit I love that. I wish all wrestling rosters had the heights listed and wish they would show the heights during a television broadcast. Finally

With Mason Manville still having sophomore eligibility and still being listed on the roster, why don't we see him wrestling at some opens?
According to wrestlestat, he hasn't wrestled a match in almost 3 years.
