First step taken towards forcing crooked PIAA playoffs hand!

Glad to see it
The last paragraph might still be the problem though as it would only be an option not a requirement. Would they actually do it?

If enough pressure is applied, I think so. They used this as their excuse for the past 10-15 years. The playing field has tilted farther from even, basically every year since then.

Long Jakks suggestions make total sense: 2 private classes, one for the Catholic schools and smaller charters and one for the super recruiting companies like St Joe's. Then 4 for the public schools. This will provide true championship teams at every level and restore the playing fields for the small schools.

I 100% support this and I hope you're right. It SHOULD happen.

It’s laughable that St Joe’s has ever been allowed in the state playoff system. They are essentially a super regional school that recruits from PA, NJ, MD, and DE and plays a national schedule.

Multiple state situation does not really matter regarding competitive balance - it's pulling from a huge metropolitan area with awful boundary schools that drives SJP's (and other recent PCL and Imhotep) success.

And even more laughable that people here defend the privates, saying they dont recruit.

This model would be great for schools like Aliquippa. As far as Bishop Guilfoyle goes, well, now you get to prove it against the schools that recruit just like you. You should embrace it. You are proving absolutely nothing, beating up on Tiny Otto-Eldred and Northern Cambria. Suck it up buttercup, I am sure that Tyrone, Bellwood Antis, and Altoona will accept their players back if you don't wish to go on 😂

This step just defined the problem. The next step is the big one. Can someone or some group shepherd this idea through the state government process without it getting doctored up with a bunch of crazy language?
Sorry, but I have little faith in our state government reps on both sides of the aisle. Highly likely a few literally turn this into a political football.
