If enough pressure is applied, I think so. They used this as their excuse for the past 10-15 years. The playing field has tilted farther from even, basically every year since then.Glad to see it
The last paragraph might still be the problem though as it would only be an option not a requirement. Would they actually do it?
I 100% support this and I hope you're right. It SHOULD happen. If enough pressure is applied, I think so. They used this as their excuse for the past 10-15 years. The playing field has tilted farther from even, basically every year since then.
Long Jakks suggestions make total sense: 2 private classes, one for the Catholic schools and smaller charters and one for the super recruiting companies like St Joe's. Then 4 for the public schools. This will provide true championship teams at every level and restore the playing fields for the small schools.
It’s laughable that St Joe’s has ever been allowed in the state playoff system. They are essentially a super regional school that recruits from PA, NJ, MD, and DE and plays a national schedule. If enough pressure is applied, I think so. Multiple state situation does not really matter regarding competitive balance - it's pulling from a huge metropolitan area with awful boundary schools that drives SJP's (and other recent PCL and Imhotep) success. It’s laughable that St Joe’s has ever been allowed in the state playoff system. And even more laughable that people here defend the privates, saying they dont recruit. It’s laughable that St Joe’s has ever been allowed in the state playoff system. They are essentially a super regional school that recruits from PA, NJ, MD, and DE and plays a national schedule.
I don't care that they recruit. They should but they should also have their own divisionAnd even more laughable that people here defend the privates, saying they dont recruit.
We can only hope that they finally get it right.
Yes, the 4 public/2 private split seems to be the best model. They can still keep their competitive balance type relegation rules as wellWe can only hope that they finally get it right.
