FL HS coach says tOSU is forcing a kid off the team (an early enrollee)

This political rhetoric and name calling has to stop.

President Obama most certainly can read. All 57 of these great United States and the entire Nitallly Lion nation owe such a debt of gratitude to China because of him. Someday, long after my generation is done spending the money that our children are putting into the Soetoro Health Care Act in the form of taxes that the administration argued were not taxes before they argued that they were taxes; our children will thank him for it, often referring to him and Jesus in the same sentence.

Regardless of which "side" you may be on......

That's some funny stuff SKI

Re: Wow, this thread really went off in a different direction!!

It seems like this must be somewhat unusual as the kid's high school coach is attacking Meyer and OSU and claiming it is ridiculous. If it's SOP in the SEC, he should be pretty acclimated to it.

And I'm sure President Obama reads extensively...you know, lots of Marx, Trotsky, Alinsky. ;)

Re: Wow, this thread really went off in a different direction!!

Medical hardship cases are supposed to be for kids who physically can no longer play their sport but can stay on scholarship. If the kid is cleared by Andrews and can physically play if he transfers it sure does seem like OSU should not be allowed to call him a medical hardship and not count his scholly toward their 85 limit. NCAA needs to look into OSU on that one. Can't just throw the medical hardship tag on a kid because you don't want him on the team and want to not count his scholly toward the 85.

Re: Wow, this thread really went off in a different direction!!

It sounds like even Andrews is saying he can't go right now. Andrews just claims that Dean needs rehab and "should" be a full-go by summer. So I guess OSU's docs should defer to Dr. Andrews? I realize you can claim OSU's docs are biased if the coaches want the kid out, but Andrews is not supporting Dean out of the goodness of his heart. I'm sure he was paid a fee by Dean's family to provide his opinion. I don't know what the alternatives are, but the NCAA snooping around questioning medical opinions of a team's doctors because a paid second opinion may disagree with about the player's prospects of recovery sounds like a recipe for a nightmare. I agree it does not look good if he goes to another school and has a great career, but I don't believe this is a case where you can say OSU is holding him out on no medical basis whatsoever. If they are screwing this kid, it will come back to bite them down the road in recruiting, so if they are rolling the dice to cut ties with an otherwise healthy 4-star recruit, that seems like an awfully big risk.

My heart bleeds for the poor guy - my God this is a disgrace

How you can try and spin this as anything other than football factory thinking is disgusting. This would never happen at PSU. We protect kids. We don't put them down when they no longer serve our purpose. Success With Honor

Curious as to what you think will happen to Dremont Jones, the four star recruit from this year that tore his ACL. Do you think hell be pushed out as well or will he be given time to recover since he's likely a higher rated recruit?

Being a bit overly dramatic aren't you? Your coach will do the same thing if you ever rise to the level of a national contender.

SEC coach making SEC coaching moves

What do you think St Nick and the other elite SEC coaches do to manage their scholarship numbers and lower half of the roster?? Stuff like this pretty common to the football schools in the SEC and Meyer is an SEC coach. All that said we should not be all that holier than thou because we also have an SEC coach who frankly has done some SEC esque things on the way in (flipping all the Vandie commits, the turn over in the signed QBs, etc) and to be competitive and put butts in seats he is going to have to compete SEC style....

Re: Who was the competitor that OSU was trying to keep him away from?

Bucknuts for Brains........in the B1G, oversigning IS CHEATING! The rule for the rest of the B1G is that you can sign 25 per year and sign up to 3 more kids IF YOU ALREADY HAVE ROOM FOR THEM (ie. with the 3 over-signees, you are at 85 or fewer recruits on scholarship)......GUESS THERE'S A DIFFERENT RULE FOR THE BUCKEYES???!???!?!?
