So the nominees for FOTY Award are Shane Griffith and Real Woods of Stanford, Tony Cassioppi of Iowa and Trent Hidley of N C State. So I sitting here wondering...what is it I am missing?... the most glaring omission and likely the one who should win the award ..Aaron Brooks..is not named. It's kind of a mind numbing thing. So in this 'lost year' ..did I just imagine that Aaron Brooks wrestled ...lost one match which he later avenged ...and won the Big Ten Wrestling Championship.

Brooks is a clear and blatant omission.

But with the season ended when it did, Griffith should win. Look at their respective schedules and results (including bonus rates), and it's a clear choice.

I guess my counter argument would be the obvious ...strength of schedule.

Strength of schedule is also in Griffith's favor.

Also Griffith had the 3 best wins between them. Wittlake and Shields (2x) were better this year than Venz.

I dont have an issue with Griffith, but a 4 loss Hidlay??
Hell, Brooks was the 3 seed and Trent was 5.

Maybe FLO required a 17 match minimum....

Flo is absurdly anti-PSU and this is just one more example of that fact.
I tend to agree. Sometimes it is like they don't want to jump on bandwagon and want to provide some levity. Other times it feels like they need to talk up other programs. A lot of the time it appears to who they have access to and we know Cael's media schedule! They make their share of complimentary remarks... just not as many. Makes you think how much we would hear if PSU was outside the top10.
