During the TV timeouts - of which there seemed to be many and each very long, a sideline reporter would interview a former player from each team. The interviews were shown on the jumbotron. I think USC had Sanchez and Ronnie Lott, that I recall. For PSU they interviewed Kijana Carter, Mike Mauti and NaVarro Bowman. I might have missed one standing in the long restroom lines. All the PSU interviews were fabulous. But in my mind, and those around me, the best line was from Bowman. At the end of this interview, he emphatically stated something like "and let's all remember - Academics first and football second is the Penn State way." My section erupted. A really fabulous statement to be made.
