Here is what JF has brought in his 2 years and where it all starts...UP FRONT. The bigs seem to be getting replenished which is exactly what the Doctor ordered. Zettel, AJ, and Barney are all gone this year so the need to get solid depth there quickly was a must. Windsor has already been singled out for his early play which is good to hear as White will need a partner there next year while the young guys mature.

DE
Simmons, Joseph, Miller, Buckholz(DT probably) (Cam Brown could end up here too)

DT
Ellison, Dwumfour, Colon, Diaboute, Carter, Windsor

OL
Gellerstedt, McGovern, Menet, Fries, Bates, Gonzalez, Jenkins, and Palmer

You forgot to mention Parker Cothren taking over next year. He's gotten lots of playing time and has been solid. He was ahead of Barney last year in the rotation.

True. He'll be in the mix as well. Spence likes to rotate the boys so it's important for some to come in ready to go.

Even as offenses have become more complex and profligate and average CFB scores have risen, it is still true that if you can stuff the other guy you have an excellent chance to win the game. In fact, a high-powered O can find itself pretty frustrated if it is getting stuffed way more often than it expects to, and that frustration can translate into opportunities thru turnovers.

PSU MUST open up some leads and get some younger guys some experience during the OOC schedule.

The future is certainly looking very bright. Even last year's true freshman (all redshirted), Beh, Brosnon, Sorrell and Wright provide 4 more "freshman" this season and will begin that process of "next man up" with the guys mentioned. DT is a little troubling as we only got 1 in each of the last 2 years however guys like Carter and Buchholz moving over to DT will certainly help alleviate the situation- plus, we only need 2 starting DTS versus 5 starting O-linemen. I don't think we're grabbing a JUCO DT in this class so while we'll be talented, there will be a lot of inexperience (White, Windsor, Carter, Buchholz plus the 4 coming in this year- Colon, Dioubate, Dwumfour and Jordan).

Overall, our defense should be tremendous for the foreseaable future.

Patience is the key- it will take a little time for a lot of these guys to play up to their potential but when they do, look out.
