Clifford in no way lost that game. We were pounded on both sides of the ball up front. Most likely will happen again this Saturday.O good you started another thread on this
He was still part of the problem obviously.Clifford in no way lost that game. We were pounded on both sides of the ball up front.
I’m no Clifford apologist, but he was our entire offense that game. The OLine and backs could do nothing and the receivers could not get open, Allar could not find anyone open either. He was still part of the problem obviously.
Yes he was terrific. 7/19.I’m no Clifford apologist, but he was our entire offense that game. The OLine and backs could do nothing and the receivers could not get open, Allar could not find anyone open either.
Singleton wide open for a 30 yard gain, drop.I’m no Clifford apologist, but he was our entire offense that game. The OLine and backs could do nothing and the receivers could not get open, Allar could not find anyone open either.
I did not say he was terrific, I said he was not the reason we got beat. We got beat up front,Yes he was terrific. 7/19.
It was all of itI did not say he was terrific, I said he was not the reason we got beat. We got beat up front,
Where did he say that? Clifford wasn't the main problem last Saturday.
What is with people saying he wasnt the main problem? BC the D line sucked 1 game you cant change your shit QB?Where did he say that? Clifford wasn't the main problem last Saturday.
Not really what he said, but I fully agree that he deserves to be the starter (if healthy).
Straight into the bucket. Thing of beauty. Contrasting the underthrown one too.Singleton wide open for a 30 yard gain, drop.
Clifford also did have a completed 48 yard pass which was a thing of beauty.Straight into the bucket. Thing of beauty. Contrasting the underthrown one too.
Allar also hit the short “in” route that Clifford sent behind Tinsley and into the ground.
It should be noted that Washington (I think) dropped a harder but catchable good gaining pass from Clifford.
🤷🏻♂️
You must be Cliffords relative. I'm not joking. No way someone can love Clifford like you.Clifford also did have a completed 48 yard pass which was a thing of beauty.
Nope. Never met him. I just have watched college football enough to know that the "shiny new thing" (backup QB) is rarely the answer people want it to be.You must be Cliffords relative. I'm not joking. No way someone can love Clifford like you.
I do not disagree that Allar has more upside. The problem with Clifford is he does not play like a savvy 6yr guy. He is a decent game manager, can make some throws and can tote the rock a bit. All in all very average. There is more upside with Allar. He has a high ceiling and is not close to it yet. Clifford just got a concussion hitting his head on his ceiling. At this stage, the two are probably equal and Clifford may know more of the playbook. There is little downside in starting Allar unless it will cause a team uproar or something which would be Franklin's job to control. I would love to see Allar sling it around like we have never seen in the Beav.
Seriously do you have a reading comprehension problem? I said Clifford wasn't the MAIN problem LAST SATURDAY. I have also agreed with those who think it's time to play Allar in other posts. Try a chill pill dude. What is with people saying he wasnt the main problem? BC the D line sucked 1 game you cant change your shit QB?

The latter at this point. The downside at this point is perception (right or wrong). Many of the same people who want Allar (I'm one of them) will skewer Franklin if Allar costs them a couple of games and the team finishes with 7 or 8 wins instead of 9 or 10.
If you could choose 10-2 with Clifford starting the remaining games or go 8-4/7-5 with Allar which would you take?
It was. No question.Clifford also did have a completed 48 yard pass which was a thing of beauty.
Clifford is the old dusty thing that should be left in the attic.Nope. Never met him. I just have watched college football enough to know that the "shiny new thing" (backup QB) is rarely the answer people want it to be.
Stick with wrestlin’.Clifford is the old dusty thing that should be left in the attic.
WE GET YOUR POINT ! How many threads and messages do you have to post that says the same thing over and over? You sure as hell aren't gonna change anythingClifford is the old dusty thing that should be left in the attic.
One more and ze is on ignore.WE GET YOUR POINT ! How many threads and messages do you have to post that says the same thing over and over? You sure as hell aren't gonna change anything
James is saying you don’t lose your job due to injury.
Why is no one mentioning Veilleux who was the QB in the Rutgers game last year and did well? He should have been placed in the Michigan game after Clifford's injury. Mobile, good arm, throws a catchable ball. Something isn't right here. I guess given his lack of PT, he will portal out and PSU will be left with a QB group sorely lacking in experience. Good point. He started a game, won it and looked good doing it. Until this team gets receivers that can get open consistently they better have a Semi mobile QB.Why is no one mentioning Veilleux who was the QB in the Rutgers game last year and did well? Veilleux is definitely going to portal out. Franklin's decision not to play him last year when he should have should have sent him to the portal before spring ball this year. Why is no one mentioning Veilleux who was the QB in the Rutgers game last year and did well? As a coach you owe it to your team to give them the best chance of winning. You don’t play or not play someone to make the fan base happy. Which ever QB gives the team the best chance to win should play. The downside at this point is perception (right or wrong). 1. Stop saying "us". You're not a Penn State fan. Here's the problem--and even the BWI staff has said this. Clifford is starting at least through the Ohio State--if we believe we're out of it at that point we may see Allar.
You're hatred of Clifford also seems personal at this point. We all know there's far bigger issues than Clifford. Changing the QB doesn't make us a better team.
But here is the thing: Stevens earned the right to play, but Franklin went with Clifford. Then Levis earned a shot, but Franklin went with Clifford. Nobody can say they were very satisfied with the last several seasons, yet here we go again, apparently! Can you see any pattern here?Nope. Never met him. I just have watched college football enough to know that the "shiny new thing" (backup QB) is rarely the answer people want it to be.
1. You also said I'd be gone by now1. Stop saying "us". You're not a Penn State fan.
2. It makes US a better team in 2023 and perhaps turns 2 losses into wins NEXT SEASON
So you're going to start him in his first college start in a ROAD game? Uh...no.1. You also said I'd be gone by now
2. I would have start Allar week one but now it's after Ohio State. Coaches have to make smart decision with QBs. Starting him now would just be...stupid...barring injury.
lol--why can't he start on the road? Purdue or Indiana would have been great spots for his first career start. Minnesota in a night game/whiteout or at Columbus is not.So you're going to start him in his first college start in a ROAD game? Uh...no.
