Franklin will be on ESPN in a few minutes...

Franklin was on ESPN promoting Penn State--if he doesn't care then why do you care?
Also, they didn't lie--they said exactly what Penn State's powers that be told them
I could care less what Franklin thinks and the same goes for you. ESPN absolutely lied. In fact, the whole story told by the national media, government, Penn State BOT was a lie.

it was what PENN STATE told everyone--there was no lie--it was retelling what they were told
Your anger is misplaced--all the anger should be directed at our leaders

It was one big lie. ESPN was certainly part of the lie. The cowards at Penn St part of the lie. The PA Governor and Attorney General- liars. Mike McQuery - liar. Lots of blame to go around. I'm not angry, I just want the truth to eventually come out.

You're being ridiculous--what truth?
The story is dead--Paterno's records were restored--his legacy will be, like everyone, not universally agreed upon.
You have to let it go--this thread is about Franklin promoting Penn State football
Not everything is about Paterno

huh? THE SECOND MILE??

The 2nd Mile means nothing--we all know what they are and the whole story--it doesn't change any narrative
The truth isn't just what you believe--it's what actually exist--this boards struggles with that
You can speak "your truth" all you want. All that matters to the average person is "a former Penn State football coach was involved in a molestation case and Paterno, correctly, said with hindsight he should have done more"--that's all that matters. You fighting a losing battle.
Paterno met his legal obligation--no one cares.

He said with the benefit of hindsight (ie knowing then what I know now) I wish I had done more. He didn't say he should have done more.

But sadly I agree. It's a losing battle because people no longer care.

Did I not include with "hindsight"? It's literally what I wrote. Most people would do more knowing more.
Because it's over--it doesn't matter any more.
You and I view Paterno the same--I don't care how some random person that was simply happy to watch him fall from grace because of how he preached about doing things the right way. You're not changing their minds. It's their opinion. It's stupid but they're entitled to it.
To see a thread about Franklin having an opportunity to hype up our program and immediately complain about ESPN is absurd to me. You have to let it go man.

Hey Amigo, I'm not talking about Paterno. Joe is long gone, and hopefully with God in heaven. His reputation was destroyed, but it doesn't matter as he has no earthly cares. I'm talking about a horrific coverup that ESPN was a significant part of and I won't let it go because the truth has not been told and justice has not been served. Many are willing to "move on" and that's fine, but not me.

You have to--you're unwillingness to move on isn't doing you or anyone else any good
The fact you want to believe ESPN was covering something up (why?) is just laughable and it takes away from valid arguments

ESPN did what every irresponsible media property does when chasing sensational stories...its about ratings..higher the ratings the more $$ they get from advertisers..regardless of how "accurate" the story is...its just how todays media works. As far as the lies...the BOT today is singularly responsible for not only taking control of the matter..but was full of members who just cared about saving their asses...they were cowards...
