From what I've seen Ryancare would suck a little less than Obamacare

Obamacare is little more than a massive redistribution program. Tax people with high incomes and give more free healthcare to people with low incomes. The mandates increase the cost of care for everybody else. The program discourages work and adds tremendously to the debt. More than 25% of working age Americans are now on Medicaid.

Ryancare cuts back on Medicaid expansion a little bit but not much. It removes the tax hikes on the rich which I don't care about. It gives upper middle class people the ability to deduct premiums just like employed people and it allows states to opt out of mandates that drive up premiums (consumers would be able to purchase coverage they want, not what the government mandates). But it doesn't do a lot more than that to lower premiums. Those things would possibly come in separate legislation. It also shifts a bit less cost from old people to young people.
