Obviously right now with recruiting we are winning some and losing some. In the near future we will be winning more recruits than losing them. And here are my reasons why, just bare with me:
Watching some highlights of last year are younger players, (with the exception of maybe Hackenberg, and few others) I believe are going to be more talented than what we have now. Thus we will be more successful on the field, which will in turn make us more successful in recruiting.
For example are skill positions now compared to the future. Last year: RB: Belton/Zwinack, WR's: Hamilton, Lewis, Zannelato. TE's: Carter/James.
Future: RB: Lynch/Barkley/Sanders, WRs: Godwin, Blacknall, J.Johnson TE's: Brenneman/Gesicki plus three highly ranked CBs in Reid, G. Taylor, L.Hill
Now I know some present players like D. Hamilton for example is really good. And some of the future players are untested. But I'm just going by the numbers and probabilities as a whole. So what I'm saying is it will be the success of these young players, that will help us win more recruiting battles.
And just a little side note at WR IMO: I think Blacknall was underused last year and has the biggest upside of any WR right now. He is faster and more athletic than Godwin, and look how good Godwin's potential is just based off of last year.
