Amazing story. This guy (Andre Ingram) has been in the G-League for 10 years and finally got a call up today. He has gray hair! He studied physics at American University and is also a physics teacher.

Here is the video of him getting the word about the call up, which came as a surprise since he got the word at what was supposed to be a routine exit interview after the end of the G-League season. You can see the dude start to choke up as the reality of the whole thing sets in.

He came in off the bench and proceeded to hit all three of his shots for 11 points in the first half, and the Staples Center crowd was chanting MVP MVP for him. Great story about perseverance.

He also had three blocks.

I hope his wife makes some cash, as 10 years in the D-league is about as profitable as a cashier at McDonalds

Was it a pity promotion?
Well, his shooting percentages for the season were 48% from beyond the stripe and 55% from the field in general. Those are very good shooting percentages. I would think they should have earned him a shot at the NBA. Unless, perhaps, he has real difficulty getting his shot off.

He had no difficulty getting his shot off He actually has a pretty quick trigger. Was really fun to watch The Lakers suck, they were resting a few of their "better" players. So watchig Ingram and hearing all the cheers for him made the game a lot more interesting.

His form looks like a middle school kid. I'm happy he's is making some bank, but his form is hilarious for someone who was a semi-pro for 10 years. He lands spread eagle on his threes, for chrissakes.
