Vols just won that game on that last 3rd down play. Pass protection completely crapped the bed on that play.
Gee, would you prefer that duhO$U doesn't play Arkansas State or scrum didn't play Hawaii, etc., etc. etc......
Just saw another blind side block call in the FL/UK game. Seems that the NCAA told every official crew to call at least one blind side block each game this week. The call against PSU was B.S.
It wasn't a "blind-side block" in any way, blocker was running with ball carrier.... defender was pursuing ball carrier (was not switching directions and coming back toward the play). It was a completely bullshit call and did not fit the definition of a "blindside block" as defined in rulebook.
Sounds like an NCAA problem which is why the NCAA soon won't be over the top level of college football--less than a decade and things will look very different
