Eli Manning's run as the starting quarterback for the New York Giants appears to be over after almost 15 years. Rookie Daniel Jones is taking over, beginning Sunday on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team announced Tuesday.

"Eli and I spoke this morning," coach Pat Shurmur said in a release by the team. "I told him that we are making a change and going with Daniel as the starter. I also talked to Daniel.

Note to Daniel: When you see Barkley by himself, throw him the ball.

10-1 there's several teams out there right now that just called about Eli's availability, including one in Pa, or maybe even in the same stadium.

As a Giants fan I think this is needed. Eli has been one of the worst QBs in the league for more than a few years now and this team is going nowhere.

Jones has the rest of this year to show he's the answer, but there are serious questions about his potential. Unfortunately Shurmur and Gettleman are "in love" with this kid so he'll probably get a few years to stink it up before they choose to move on.

Sadly, this franchise is such a joke that Barkley will never play in a meaningful game while still in his prime.

Unless they think he can play on the defensive side of the ball, what does it matter?

He’s worth a stale baloney sandwich at this point.

So what he's worth? How high a future draft pick for a guy ridin' his last rodeo?
first he would have to waive his no trade clause. I think he would have an interest in a team that is built to win now, but are missing a QB. The Steelers? Panthers? would the Saints take him to fill in? How about the Jags? How about whoever gets their starter hurt this week or next?

More touches for Barkley. Has to happen with a rookie QB.

Eli is bad. Zero mobility, arm is shot as down to average at best velocity and his accuracy is just not there. Not sure why anybody would want him as he just ain’t any good.

Crazy how Giants went from being one of the best run organizations and now are just bad. Not a whole lot different from the Steelers in some sense.

Sad to say, yeah. He’s got two rings, that is tremendous. I never cared for him but I guess I now don’t mind acknowledging his greatness.
