I got the feeling Snyder was mocking nickel. Nickel usually is humble and thanks God etc. And it seemed Snyder went out if his way to say he was staying humble and all glory to God. He also threw his head gear. Anybody or am I reading too much into this.

So what this means is that Snyder beat Coon on a last-second takedown, won his 3rd NCAA title, and was thinking of Bo Nickal.

If you've ever seen Last Chance U on Netflix, Britton's character on FNL reminds me so much of the guidance counselor in LCU. The demeanor and accent.... just can't shake it.

As far as Snyder is concerned, he is often seen/heard preaching. Doubt he was throwing shade at Nickal, if he was, it was weak.

Yeah ... you're reading too much into it.

Along the same lines, I read somewhere (Rutgers board?) that Bo Nickal's post-match mini-rant about "This is what we do at Penn State!" might have been directed at the Rutgers 125 pound wrestler. Got a good chuckle from that one.

I just want to say that as someone with Irish blood in my veins, I found the Snyder family t-shirts for finals more than a little offensive. Yeah, you put an O' in front of your name and that makes you Irish.

Yep. Simply saying once Martin dropped his hips as they were going down, bailing would have come into play. As it was , it looked like Bo did try and bail but came back to it when Martin covered

I think Snyder threw his headgear because Bo did. My first impression was the similarity to the tennis player who realizes judge made a bad call on an opponents shot and then let's the next serve go by as a "make-up". So not sure Snyder wasn't making a statement in his own way that the penalty point on Bo should have been ignored in that very special moment.

I had the impression that Bo threw his head gear out of emotion and Snyder was throwing his to give someone a trophy.

yeah, a rollthrough isn't a pin in folk. The ref was no where near position to call it anyway. Lack of anticipation, and just the speed it went down. Believe me, I tried hard to count to one watching, just not fast enough at taking off my shoes!
Just thought the picture of him flat would bring back some good memories for some of you.
