So, we havent had one of these threads in a while.
First, my biases. I'm a scientist, a molecular biologist. I understand the scientific method of hypothesis, test, revise. I understand that there is a global warming trend. I also understand that there is more CO2 in the atmosphere that 100 years ago. But what I dont understand is how someone can claim that the warming is mostly man-made, and that sea level will rise 1 M in the next 30 years, and that the world will be 2 C warmer in the next 30 years. Those are projections, educated guesses, not facts. It drives me nuts when "respected scientists" make these claims as if they are preordained facts.

“Claims that cannot be tested, assertions immune to disproof are veridically worthless, whatever value the may have in inspiring us or in exciting our sense of wonder.”
