looking at the projected line-up---if all holds true---they will be very tough--with no injuries they should be in the top 5 mix next year..

It is hard to believe that Pantaleo will hold 149---but great for the team if he does...

I, for one, hope we beat Michigan every year 60-0 with the help of several brutally bad ref calls and with Dave Parry, Dave Witvoet, Jim Delany, and Bill Lemonnier in attendance.

But that's just me
Absolutely love your killer instinct! It's not enough to just shut them out...need that dagger in their hearts to drive them nuts like being screwed by the ref. Your dislike for Michigan goes unrivaled with the exception of my disdain for everything Iowa. Lol

I understand the dislike of Michigan football. However, I have met and talked to McFarland several times and IMHO he is a good coach and a great person. I've got nothing but respect for UM wrestling, although obviously I would like to beat them 60-0, which I would like to do to EVERY team we wrestle. Probably unrealistic though.

Its just that Go Blue thing that ticks me off.

My hatred for Michigan does not discriminate between sports. I'm firmly with Chickenman on this one. Eff scUM!
Penn State fans seem to universally hate Michigan. Michigan fans on the other hand seem rather neutral about Penn State. Very strange dynamic.

When Jim Delany's your Boy, you can afford to be charitable. ;)

Besides that, I guess you never read the UM Rivals FB board - at least until its numerous corrosive posters destroyed it from within.

When you get openly screwed as many times as we have......it leads to that.

Then there is the whole bo and woody network that cuts the wrong way.

Thats what i got w only 0:02 to think on it.

Michigan being a good wrestling team is great for the conference. Good for us fans too, as we'll tackle them at their place this coming year. I see a number of solid match-ups ahead. As far as all the other stuff, not sure what it has to do with wrestling.

I'm with NoVa, and actually deeply appreciate Michigan Wrestling. I do distinguish, tho: Harbaugh's a weirdo who hasn't placed better than 3rd in his own division, and mgoblog is the most obnoxious thing the internet ever built. Thanks, Brian Cook!

But Michigan Wrestling is pretty cool. The Silver Fox is a likeable dude, as is Sean Bormet. The state has pretty awesome HS wrestling, which is likely to get even more solid in the next couple years, as the (Nick) Simmons Academy of Wrestling (SAW--a killer name for a wrestling club) gets crackin. According to his interview on Bloodround, he & his dad & brothers are opening it, Taylor Massa is lined up to help coach. He said between all the coaches they have lined up, they have 11 Michigan HS state championships.

Also, I have trouble thinking of many UM wrestlers who have been annoying or unlikable. The Churellas, Steve Luke & Kellan Russell were great champions (maybe Russell's close matches were a tad annoying, but he's a good dude). They had a dude in 1942 named Manly Johnson, who placed 2nd and a dude in 1957 named Max Pearson, and those are all cool names. The legendary Harold Nichols was their second champion, in 1939.

More recently, Grajales & Pantaleo are kinda meh, but I loved Brian Murphy & Conor Youtsey (who's about to do work at Pitt with Gavin), and next year's lineup is gonna be studly. Coon, Abounader & Micic are all huge hammers.

In general, perhaps because the fan community is so much smaller and the disconnect between fans & affletes is smaller, I tend to leave my Football Hate on the back burner when I put my Wrestling Fan Hat on.

Manly Johnson.
