An Oklahoma Republican voter on Tuesday explained that she had voted “straight party-line Democrat” because she was appalled by hearings where Republican lawmakers dismissed allegations that then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted multiple women.
“I voted straight party-line Democrat for the first time in my life,” Tiffany Eichner of Oklahoma City told The Oklahoman‘s Ben Felder at a polling place on Tuesday.
“I’m a registered Republican but the Kavanaugh hearings really did me in,” the voter added. “It changed everything.”
Felder also spoke to several other Republican women who said they were voting for Democrats this year.
