Thorpe looks real happy!

Rivers looks a lot happier than he did in his picture from his VT visit. I'm confident about him staying with us.

Yep, and I find it hard to believe that his pappy would encourage him to entertain UCLA or UM. I put my $ on him being a multi-year starter for the Nittany Lions....

From what I know without looking up pictures (Updated with some corections):
CJ - squatting center of front row
Hipp - front row, 2nd from left
Clifford - Front row, 2nd from right
Rivers - far left, 2nd row
Holmes - 2nd row, 2nd from left
Matos - 2nd row, 3rd from left
Martin - 2nd row, 2nd from right
Paschal ?? - last on left, back row
Sutherland - back row, 2nd from right (hair in bun)
Barber - back row, far right
That could be Franklin, 3rd row, 3rd from left sitting at top.
Could that be DJ.Brown front row far right
Journey Brown, Back Row, 2nd from left.

That's all I can decifer.
I don't believe I see Wade or Miranda.

Speaking of Wild Dogs, is it me, or does the d line actually bark during the game? Not every down, but I heard it during the Wisconsin game, and then again in the Rose Bowl. No one else in the room picked up on it. Am I crazy, or are they actually barking at the line?

Maybe Pitt will claim that if they can't clap while the QB is calling signals then the DL isn't allowed to bark.

Paschal not Hansard. Rivers is on the far left 2nd row. J Brown is in the back second from left. DJ Brown is front row far right

Not sure who is flanking Martin, who looks like a potential 320 lber. Thorpe is big and looks like he can play now. I could see a Bates, Thorpe, Menet, McGovern, Fries OL in the very near future.

That was Fonzie barking for Barkley.....he sometimes gets carried away when he's excited!

You are assuming Fries and Menet will get their shirts pulled. Don't be so sure. They may be double red shirting.

Have room for 2 more, trying to flip the DE from U of Kentucky, Mark Webb from UGA. Thorpe looked great in HS AA Bowl, next years OL could be superb with Mahon, Wright, Fries, Jenkins at OT; McGovern & Nelson at C; Bates, Gonzales, Menet, Thorpe at OG.

Yes,
Except that

  1. There is NO CHANCE of Nelson playing Center.
  2. Thorpe will redshirt.

You can't RS top prospects any more in the era of 3-and-gone. PSU should never have RS Jesse James when it became obvious he was going to leave early. I don't think Nelson has the legs to play OT any more, can't beat out Wright, Mahon, Fries (which of those 3 do you believe he will beat out?). But he has the smarts and size to be a solid C, and that is obviously his NFL position. Remember, PSU loses both Gaia and Wendy Laurent, so depth is a problem at C.

Well:

Aside from the fact that J James NEVER REDSHIRTED.....another spot on post my the Dixie Sage

Tell that to the PSU coaches (and the majority of NCAA coaches as well), because they will be redshirting the majority of OL recruits going forward, as stated numerous times by CJF. And Thorpe will redshirt as well, baring extraordinary OL injuries.

Because "you don't think" will not be a reason for Nelson to move to Center. The interior line will be made up of McGovern, Bates, Menet, Gonzalez, and possibly Wright. CJF won't waste a year of Thorpe's eligibility as a backup, possibly 3rd string. Miranda may have a better chance to play as he is more of a Center and Center is a position of need with both Gaia and Laurent graduating.

Nelson is an OT and the odds of him not playing OT in his 5th year are slim and none. He may not even start, but he will play OT. He would fare worse battling for an interior OL position as the talent inside is better than at OT and would make it even more of a challenge. And he may not have to beat out Wright at OT as Wright may be playing inside, where he played for the majority of his PSU career, up until he was about the only option at OT due to last season's rash of OT injuries.

Yeah, love the frame on Martin. Kid will be another who adds "good weight" and gets up to 315-320!
