Just was reading through some threads (I was curious what kind of meltdown you guys would be having).

Some of you guys calling out Hack for the lack of success must not understand football. That dude is a stud, and he's the only reason you guys beat us last year. Not to sell you defense short, because they were very good as well, but Hack drove down the field in the 2 minute drill to score. That shows something.

You cannot expect a QB, I don't care how talented he is, to succeed when you're putting him out there behind that OLine. They're just horrible. It reminds me of the OLines that Savage had to go behind when he was at RU. It forced Schiano into making a change (ran a bit of wildcat) with Sanu under center causing a transfer from Savage.

Didn't want to start anything, just to tell some of you to put things in perspective. If you want to blame people, it's the OLine and Coaches for not making play calls that can hide a bad OLine. Dude is just being put out there to be a punching bag...

The OL and coaches are primarily responsible, but Hack held the ball too long on more than one occasion and made some poor throws on others. He must take part of the blame.

Hack's window is smaller than most - at the game, I routinely counted fewer than 3.5 seconds before he was swallowed up and/or had to tuck the ball and run. That's barely enough time to set up in a three step drop. Of course, if the coaches threw in some play action to keep the D honest, or kept him in shotgun, or ran more hurry up, I think he could have at least had an opportunity to throw the ball away (something he still needs to learn and use as a viable option). Hack is failing, but in large part because the coaches (playcalling) are failing him. I love Franklin, but the offensive game plan needs work.

Don't have any idea about his personal life, but he does not seem to have the decision making ability to be a successful QB when he us under pressure. Do NFL QB's face pressure? Yes, and the successful QB's make good decisions when they sense pressure. Hack neither can sense pressure or react to it.

"...but Hack held the ball too long on more than one occasion and made some poor throws on others."

The same thing can be said of any NFL QB in any of their games.

Maybe, but this is college and he is supposed to be one of the best at this level. He didn't look it yesterday.

You are sooo right unfortunately

hard not to agree, but Hack could do a little more to help himself. if he could get some runs off that would certainly help.

hopefully he is meeting with Donovan, Hand, Rahne and staff to see what can be done.
