Haha - right on cue Myles Martin's dad

All the Lols and lack of punctuation reminded me of how my 13 yr old daughter texts. Perhaps Martin has a younger sister who is the real culprit.

I wish Martin's dad read this thread so he could see how many people are becoming aware of what he is creating and tarnishing the entire family.
I'm thinking that if he doesn't have a membership here already, then he will in the near future. And then he will make things worse than they already are...

If he does come around that would be fine. However he should learn from John Meeks dad how brutal these boards can be and just avoid them.

If Martin's father can't handle the Rec Hall "trash talkers" ... someone please make them seat neighbors!

I was the score keeper on mat 2 and from 10 feet away it was not a takedown and consequently not 2 near fall. Martin stalled the entire first period and I kept getting ready to write down the stall warning which never came. I was very surprised as the officials were calling stalling fairly consistently on our mat up until that point.

I've been holding judgement on new stalling rules until after NCAAs. But my fear is whistles will disappear in conference tournaments, NCAAs and marquee match ups. This just confirms my thoughts.

I like the new rules and enforcement of stalling has most definitely created addition action.

Somehow this tool ^ missed the tournament, which made it much more enjoyable for everyone.

Can someone give me a rundown oh the history of this guy? How did he become such a big fan of Terp wrestling? Is he a former wrestler that never panned out and living vicariously through the athletes? I'm all for being a fan but if being a "Super fan" means acting like him, I think I'll pass. I know this is totally unfair considering I know nothing about the man but he kinda reminds me of John DuPont. Again, I admit that's definitely shallow of me but I can't shake the thought...

Johnstown -- Just Google him. His interests and/or behaviors go far beyond Maryland Wrestling.

There's plenty of stuff on the internet, here's the Wikipedia page...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Ficker

I've sat next to him many times over the years and had some great conversations. I would say he's an attention-seeker, and rubs many the wrong way, but I've never heard him curse or be disrespectful of the Maryland wrestler's opponent. It's always pro-Maryland, not so much anti-opponent rhetoric. It pee's off intolerant folks, I tend to just ignore his rants.

Don't discriminate. :D
It wasn't until I started working with a bunch of black dudes after college that I heard about brothers, even some darker-skinned guys, getting sunburned. Blew my mind. When I was comfortable enough to discuss racial stuff with them, we had been talking about the Redskins (this was circa 1989-90) and I mentioned that Dexter Manley looked almost purple to me. They laughed and said "blue-black". I had never heard that term, but it was dead on. Of course Italian slang for a black person is the Italian word for eggplant which are, of course, purple/blue-black.

Some of these work friends and I were bar-hopping in Charlottesville late night and a cop pulled us over. He was giving the guys in the car the stink-eye, then saw a nerdy white guy (me) in the back and quickly changed expression as I addressed him innocently "what's the problem, officer"? Gave us a warning. First time these guys ever avoided a ticket - they all wanted me to ride shotgun from then on.

I actually almost put this in my 1st post- re: blacks and tans. I'm not blue-black (reserved for darkest of dark) but I am a darker skinned black guy and I have allergies to the sun that not only make me prone to sunburn but I've had a couple bad episodes of sun poisoning. While I'm not completely a vampire, I limit my time in direct sunlight, cover up more than most and take daily meds during the "sunny" season. I always had minor allergic reactions as a kid, mostly during the summer, that got worse as I got older and wasn't diagnosed until I was about 30 yrs old. It took some convincing for me to believe it and when I do have an incident most are in amazement that someone as dark as me gets sunburn. Had a couple vacations end in disaster (latest being a trip to the Dominican Republic a few months ago). Loading up on prevention meds, sunscreen and other precautions didn't help.

Dave Chapelle standup about having a white guy in the car when you get pulled over is gold (NSFW language):

Chappelle is a God! Haha. Yeah, you want me in the car to run interference. My ability to get out of tickets is near legendary - I should probably be a drug mule making runs up I-95.

The very few times I've been hassled by a redneck cop (Pine Barrens, NJ, some real ahole cop of some sort in DC) it's so shocking. The incident in DC, caused by me honking a horn at traffic and this guy rushing across the street to pull this massive, angry power trip, came out of nowhere. There are people who say don't mouth off to cops, and that's great advice, but this guy made it nearly impossible. It came to nothing, but holy hell. If I was more immature at the time I might have said something and who knows what happens.

As for your issue with the sun, that's bizarre. Too bad. I have a white friend who ended up contracting the skin condition Michael Jackson had - loss of skin pigment in places. Going outside in the sun is very risky and he has to take serious precautions.

Yep. I only had three pullovers in my first 15 years of sales (Driving like crazy to get to mu next appointment). The first two were easy outs. The third one, I knew I was cooked no matter what I said when that.... ugly dike police officer with the reflective sun glasses started walking towards my car!

I see what you did there.
One of his best skits and definitely NSFW/highly offensive to those easily offended (2 parts):

Yeah, count me as one of those that are easily offended. I prefer the wholesomeness of amatuer wrestling and football. If I am going to watch a video, I am going to make it a productive learning experience from Dr OZ on the value of taking the proper vitamins or learn about other people's culinary preferences from people like Chris Rock:...
