Hamler for the Heisman

I am with you! I posted this same thing in the game thread after the first down run.

DUDE IS SIMPLY THE BEST!

Tua- great but now injured.
Hurts - Overrated
Fields - We'll see
Lawrence - Not playing great.
Taylor - Illinois. Enough said.
Herbert - Pac 10
Ehlinger - really?

Hurts, Fields, Tua (if he returns) and you forgot Burrow. Burrow might be having the best year. Honestly, the Heisman is pretty much a QB award now which is stupid. Saquon still should have won.

Agreed. Forgot Burrow. Not saying she should be leading or anything at this point, but worthy of consideration.

Saquon didn’t even get invited to Nyc... no one from psu is sniffing the heisman.

Why not? When does Penn State start promoting this?

Penn State has never “promoted” a player for the Heisman. If the vote was today I doubt he’d be in the Top Ten. Even with double the touches he’d struggle to ever get in the Top Five.

Yep, KJ has no shot.......not with his stats. If he were to combine CeeDee Lamb statistics with some of his playmaking clips, then perhaps. Otherwise? Not even top-10. The Heisman values statistics too much for a guy like KJ.......unless of course we go undefeated. Then perhaps he could get an invite based on that whole "best player on best team" premise.

Things are different in the post-JVP era, but it was interesting how Joe would inadvertently sabotage Heisman campaigns in the name of good sportsmanship. Imagine if he allowed LJ to play that second half against Michigan State in 2002.......he could have run for 400-500 yards in that game, and probably would have beaten Carson Palmer for the Heisman. Imagine if Ki-Jana Carter got more than 198 carries in 1994. At 7.8 ypc, he would have eclipsed Rashaan Salaam's 2055 yard mark. But that's what happens when you play for a guy like Joe who didn't care about stats, and a dominant offense that essentially won games by halftime.

It’s often tough trying to rank guys who play different positions. Throw different conferences in the mix and it becomes even more of a crapshoot.

The Heisman Trophy is easily the most subjective MVP award in any major sport. It baffles me why it also seems to have the most hype.

They promoted the hell out of Michael Robinson

One more reason why the Heisman Trophy is subjective and overrated.
