Who? Older posters should remember her.
Debbie was one of the original members of the Pixies Three, an early 60's group of three cute girls from Hanover, Pennsylvania. Deb, Midge Bollinger, and Kaye McCool started the group and Bonnie Long later replaced Midge. They had hits like "442 Glenwood Avenue" and "Birthday Party", but went their separate ways in 1966 after they all graduated from High School. The got back together in 1991 for a high school reunion, and are still active, off and on, today.

Debbie was the cutest of the bunch and when I talk about my all time favorite crushes, she is right at the top.
Photos of her alone are difficult to find, so I have posted some with her and the other Pixies.

Debbie is on the left in this photo.

Here are 2 photos of the group 3 years ago. Debbie (far right in both), and then 66, was still cute.

After the Pixies split up, Deb spend a year with the Angels and then cut a couple of singles on her own, this one being a cover of the Angels hit, "Thank You and Goodnight".

Swisher also had a single, a cover of The Beach Boys' "You're So Good to Me."

I think two of the girls went to Hanover High and the other to South Western.

Never heard of them. If their songs weren't played on WIBG nobody in Philly heard of them or their songs.

I have heard of Bret Hanover and Adios Vic and I think they're both from Hanover, PA. :D

You may be right on the High Schools. I know for sure Debbie went to Hanover and was there for the 50th reunion of the Class of 66.

"Birthday Party" was a top 40 National Hit in 1963, and "442 Glenwood Avenue" made it to #56 that same year.

Is this the woman that Arthur Spooner went on to unsuccessfully manage on King of Queens?

News to me. I was in high school in '66 so you'd think I'd have heard of them. We were all into the Brits and Motown in those days.

Yeah, I saw they had a bullet.
I was also in high school in 66, and was a doo-wop guy. While I liked Motown, I despised nearly every British group. I later came to appreciate most of it, but it was not an easy sell for me.

I used to know a guy who was in Bobby Rydell's (Ridarelli) wedding party. I asked the guy one question about Rydell. My question involved Ann Margret.

Were you a fan of the South Philly guys Rydell, Fabian, Avalon?

Yes. Especially Rydell.

At the 1969 Orange Bowl parade, they recruited a bunch of us students to make a lot of noise and march with the Lion mascot in front of the Blue Band. Bobby Rydell was on a float in front of us. His face was covered with horrible makeup, though we got to hear him sing one song in front of the TV cameras.

Col. Sanders was behind us. We got to talk to him before the parade, and told him how The Char Pit was the most popular restaurant in State College.

True.
I should mention another Philly group I really like are the Len Barry and the Dovells. I love this clip of the Bristol Stomp.
Well, yeah. Bristol Stomp was a big hit, played on WIBG 99.9 (Wibbage) every half hour or so.

I always figured those guys were from Bristol, PA. I think they all went to Overbrook High (Wilt) in West Philly, at least Len Barry did.
