Went to the urologist today and the pathology report is in. What I had was a renal cell carcinoma and the most aggressive kind as well. But it was fully encapsulated. Dr. Keehn, the urologist and surgeon, said that during the surgery they also removed any nodes around the kidney where it would be most likely to spread if it did. The pathologist also tested these and they were totally clean. Dr. Keehn fully expects that I'll never have a problem with this again, but we'll monitor things every 6 months or so to be safe. He told me that other than if it had been benign, that I've had the best possible outcome. He was very happy. I thanked both him and God.
As for restrictions going forward, my tackle football career is over, but I can do anything else including riding my bike.
