Of course I know we have a verbal commitment from Blake Gilikin, but he is only touted as a FG and KO specialist. Quinn Nordin can also punt, similar to how we had Anthony Fera doing just about all kicking. With the lack of success we have had in the punting game since Fera left for Texas, it will be good to have 2 scholarship kickers to compete, and in case 1 goes down to injury, we at least have someone who can kick field goals (hopefully as well as Fickin did in his SENIOR year). We already signed a scholarship punter for Nordin's class, you will recall.
Philly Lion: Thank you for that correction. I am sorry for my misunderstanding. Having said that, going back to my OP, let's still hope that Nordin commits to Penn State, as we can always use a good kicker!Jerademan74 - Somehow you seem to think that Blake Gillikin is a placekicker. He is a punter, not a placekicker and will be the only scholarship punter on the 2016 roster. Quinn Nordin is being recruited as a (scholarship) placekicker. The two of them would have separate duties.

No problem! Yes, I too am hoping that Quinn commits to PSU, although I must say I wonder what they are going to do with all the other placekickers on the roster. There are five right now (all preferred walk-ons): Joe Julius (PK); Tyler Davis (P/PK); Nick Boumerhi (PK); Yannik Haller (PK); and Troy Stivason (PK). If you add in Chris Gulla (P/PK) that's six.
I believe that he will end up with the Evil Empire(Michigan) because it will be tougher recruiting against JH than Brady Hoke.
