Hoagies in Raleigh

This all goes to the process and culture that Cael has created and fostered, probably his whole life, which was fostered by his Dad and other folks around him.

My favorite story that highlights this was from DT and ER's last Scuffle. I was up on the mezzanine, watching a group of 8-9 year-olds approaching DT, who was lying on an off mat, watching the action. DT was oblivious to the kids. You could see them trying to convince each other to go over and talk to him. They got about 10 feet away, and all sat down, still too scared to approach DT.

Finally, after a few minutes, one of the kids got up the nerve and timidly went over. As soon as the kid asked for a picture, DT leapt off the mat, walked over to the whole group and started conversing, high-fiving and getting selfies taken with them, along with a group shot. He appeared to treat the situation as though those kids were the only thing going on in his world at that time.

I'm so glad that I caught the boys' initial interactions and realized what was going on, so that I had the whole context. I was a newbie to PSU wrestling at the time (sorry, HR, but there's room for us, too), but of course now realize how indicative that was of the culture.

Did any of the kids throw him ... for fun?

Yeah what a bunch of idiots. How dare Hawkeye fans be optimistic about their team.. They act like they even have a chance to win a recruitin battle. Hell they act like they don’t know ISU is the best team in the state and will be beating them soon. SAD

Technically, it's Northern Iowa that's better than Iowa this year.
Things will even out the next few years after.
Then hawks are relegated to sucking hind udder from there;)

Oh yeah UNI is elite, that’s why we won’t schedule them. Now don’t forget about Grand View and Wartburg too as they are gaining ground. I just hope we don’t shutter the program.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Iowa Central knocking on the door soon enough, then we'll have to avoid them at Iowa City duals. I think it's in our best interest to switch to a NCWA, but with our luck the minute we switched we'd get nailed with an ACLU lawsuit.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Lehigh give Iowa a good run. Not kidding.

Absolutely! Off the top of my head, Lehigh should definitely outscore them at 125, 133, 141, 174, and 184(PD3 could change this, but Preisch could beat him as well). Stoll's knee has got to be a question mark also.

Oh boy, it's probably getting ugly over at HR. Not even gonna bother to read it. Never mind, I'm gonna go check it out.

Man sure looks terrible for the Hawks.
Can any of you tell me if they will win any duals this year.
Wait hopefully Michigan State.
Most likely they will leave the big ten and drop down to Div 11 .
Maybe they can surprise some of you they could only lose 4 but ya never know,,:(

No man. We don't want Iowa leaving or anything crazy like that. The Big10 is the premier wrestling conference and Iowa is easily one of the 4 or 5 best programs in that premier wrestling conference. Pretty solid wrestling program with solid fan support.

I want Iowa to be the best 2nd place team it can possibly be every year.

We need rivalries to grow the sport

Look Iowa fans, you at least have each other; we had to suffer the Gable years (and years...) in internet-free solitude.
