Hornibrook Out.

I think they're a wash....beat LSU with Houston. Neither is outstanding and Wisky has rarely asked their QBs to be elite playmakers as much as game managers.

They're still going to be run heavy.

Coaches always start the QB that gives them the lesser chance to win. That's why the 2nd string QB is always popular. Some on here probably still think Stevens gives PSU a better shot this weekend.

That's 2 of us who have asked. I don't see it on ESPN or anywhere yet.
Sorry if I missed your post. This is pretty big news, and you would think that it would be easy to find with a google search. Nothing is showing up.

Could this be yet another in a series of baseless predictions? :)

Watching Paul Chryst'a PC right now live and he said that Hornibrook status is still TBD but he would not hesitate playing both QBs.

Another false rumor from 21Guns.

Hornibrook's the better passer. If all Wisky does is run with no pass threat, our front 7 is in great position. Think Iowa. Think Ohio State. What happened in those games without a passing threat?

It's by definition a subjective judgement.......

At that, you sure you want to adopt that "take"?

104 comp 179 attempts 1243 yards 58.1 pct 6.94 ypa 8 td 7 int 123.4 rating
69 comp 108 attempts 912 yards 63.9 pct 8.44 ypa 5 td 3 int 144.5 rating

And there is a HUGE difference in mobility (the longest run gain in Hornibrook's career is TWO yards.....and Hornibrook takes sacks at THREE times the rate of Houston)

Or, one could just watch the games :)

Whatever Hornibrook's health status is.....Chryst will have Houston on the field a lot (if not the large majority) of the game.

Bottom line - it doesn't much matter if Hornibrook is "out" or not (aside from what would happen if Houston gets hurt)

Houston was the starter at the beginning of the year....Hornibrook was phased in...and then Houston started to split time in November.
Houston is the more mobile, stronger-armed kid (and the guy with better "stats")....but most importantly......the Minnesota game last week.

UW was getting it handed to them - down 17-7 in the third Q, and the only Wisconsin offense to that point was when Houston rotated in in the first half and led the Badgers to an 80 TD drive (was 3-3 on the drive for about 40 yards).
After Hornibrook was hurt (though Houston would have likely rotated in anyway)......Wisconsin outscored Minnesota 24-0.
A lot of that was due to "Bad Mitch Leidner".....but Houston definitely had shown enough (especially with how poorly Hornibrook was playing before his injury) to regain the upper hand in the Wisconsin QB derby.

I don't think either Wisky QB is substantially better than the other. None of them are ever phenomenal. It's Wisconsin. Stop the run and you'll win the game. The end.

Hornibrook: 1243 yards passing, 8 TD's
Houston: 912 yards passing, 5 TD's

Houston: Benched for Hornibrook, twice. Has averaged 2.5 series per game since becoming #2 qb.

Not false at all. Needs doctor clearance to play. 24 hours before the game, and no clearance.

Seems like PSU tends to employ, particularly in the earlier stages of the game, a front seven that does not blitz and a secondary that drops into zone pass coverage. The result is that the Lions tend to give up a fair amount of medium distance passes. In the later stages of the game, they seem to turn up the defensive pressure, blitzing more and possibly just wearing down the opponent's offensive line.

But if Wisconsin focuses strictly on running the ball, it seems to me that it plays right into the Lions' defensive strength, which is shutting down the run. I'm really intrigued to see if the Badgers can establish a decent run game (I think not), and if they do not, whether Houston can provide the kind of passing game they would need to win (again, I think not). Hope it is not just the blue and white glasses I am wearing.

Wisky's constant pounding of the rock represents a long day for a lot of teams. We're lucky to have Jason Cabinda and Brandon Bell. Those guys pack lunch.

It's bad news for PSU because the media/committee is looking for any tiny reason to keep our resume behind UM's and tosu's. If we beat Wisky with their starting QB out, then they'll chalk the W up to another fluke.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the fix has been in for some time. We're not getting in absent a lot of help.

Why are you always wrong?

I'm not. I piss off a little group of freaks and they scream and yell like 9 year olds every time I post something, lmao.

Edit: Except for "Jim Cummings" who is a lonely little kid who wants friends so he piles on at the end like Andy Katzenmoyer did for cheap tackles HAHAHA.
