How crazy good is the 184 lb. final going to be?

How does one even wrestle Bo without being scared for their lives at this point? He is pinning everyone.

Dean has looked very good himself - I would say that Bo is the more dynamic wrestler, but Dean is better in terms of never getting out of position (you will rarely see Dean get countered). Bo is just so dangerous from everywhere - off his own offense, off the counter-offense or even "offense directly from defensive scramble" (Brooks Spladle job & yesterday's match with Boyd), from top, from bottom, etc... Not sure you really can say who is going to win this thing until they meet - Dean has looked awfully strong against top competition as well.

Yea no doubt. It's the match everyone wants to see, and I hope we get a chance to see it.

I was pretty amazed when Bo made short work of a Top 4 Brooks, but to now add #4 Boyd to the list....insane. Nickal v Dean is shaping up as one for the ages!
But. But. But. Many were questioning Bo and Cael for wrestling 84 versus 74 when the season began. Only Spyker knew that Bo on full feed was best for Bo and Penn State. One of these days the naysayers will realize that Cael really knows what he is doing (and the fact that Bo can't hold 74). He is very tall and generates some crazy leverage that shocks his opponents. With him and Nolf, having a single in on them, even when deep, is not to your advantage. That is what is crazy

With a single on Jason Nolf or Bo Nickal.... you're just a few seconds from seeing the lights. It's wrestling on another level and so tantalizing to watch. I literally wait for the "prey" to get caught in the web. I feel like a human Venus Flytrap. Does that make me sick? :)

The challenge for Bo with Gabe Dean is that Dean will not get himself out of position like Brooks and Boyd did. Bo is going to have to beat him straight up without relying upon his funk to win. I sure as heck hope he can do it as he has been lights out this year!

Seriously. John Doe is a clown.

And Bo's bonus rate is approaching the rate of 90/10

I think this match will be a lot like Wright vs. Kilgore in 2013. Bo is the more crazy wrestler with all the moves (Quentin). Dean is just a really big, strong dude that is super technically (Kilgore).

Kilgore was the better boxer, with a nice left hook. I was so impressed with QW keeping cool during that match when Kilgore so obviously just wanted to brawl.

I swear I heard the same thing said about Askren, again and again and again, and he just beat everyone anyway.

For analysis, here's a video of the Gabe Dean - Myles Martin match:

Clearly pinned twice. Looks like Hagerty is not alone in this kind of blown call.
Dean forced MM's hand by pushing him around and getting the stall call, then forced a bad shot. This is actually what will be Bo's main issue when they meet: Dean has guile and Bo will need to match him in smarts, which I believe Bo will do, since now Bo also has the guile, that he has learned from last year up to now. Dean won't try to push Nickal all over the mat like this, he knows better, but if he does, Bo will need a strategy that is superior to the plan that Martin had, which looked here like NO plan, haha.

From that vantage point you think you can make a claim like that? Well, you can make any claim you want, but from the vantage point of the camera in the above video, you can't make a legitimate claim that Martin was pinned.

The ref was in perfect position the first two times Dean cranked Martin over. The wrestlers changed positions a bit during the third sequence, and in so doing there wasn't an ideal spot for the ref to be. You can't call a pin if you think the defensive wrestler is probably pinned. You have to see it before you can call it, and at times with cradles that's not as easy as it may seem. Plus, in this case, Martin was rolling around a good bit. In those situations, you don't call a pin if the defensive wrestler rolls through it and isn't stopped during the roll.

The way Bo has been wrestling in the room against certain guys Dean will not touch him !!!! He will put you on your back from any position and you are not getting out....

Yea, I was one of the many you mentioned. And I'm certainly not disappointed to say I was wrong. :)

No problem. The joke was that Spyker was whining the loudest, but now is crowning Bo the National Champ with an easy victory over Gabe. It didn't make "mathematical" sense to me either, as 74 looked like a cake walk to the championship for Bo. But, looking at Bo, there is no way he can make 74 (but that said, he'd be sucking to 149 for Smith) ;) He looks like he is 6' 2" at least and still very strong. So, all of our "mathematical" point counting was probably off a very false assumption.

There certainly had to be lots of mis-information out there as well, for at much as I love Cutch, do we really believe he was losing to Bo by 1 and 2 points for 84 wrestle-offs?

Let's go wrestle the B1G's in two weeks first.
