How do these drug tests work in CFB?

Another question I have is when were the tests administered? Was it after the regular season in advance of the bowl game? Do they test before/during the season? If it's more likely to happen after the season but before the bowl, you will probably see players like Dexter Lawrence take a pass on the bowl game - kid was likely a first round pick (and still may be) but why risk it? Now he's a drug user.

Impossible to say. Drug testing is by plan. Not all teams and not all players are tested during the season. Testing is suppose to be more extensive in connection with (NCAA championships and) post-season bowls, but, again, it's not universal.

Thanks - just seems odd that right before the bowls a handful of players from premier programs are busted.

Not really. It's simply a matter of numbers. During the regular season, all teams are in the pool (of teams subject to be tested). Teams making the post season go back into a new (smaller) pool that is supposed to be more extensively (higher percentage of teams) tested.

But you're right, it is odd that we see players from premier programs get busted just before the bowls. But consider this possibility: maybe it's just the NCAA (who controls drug testing) getting back at the CFP (which they don't control).

Go to 1:35. dabo should be fired for such bullshit.

Just one example of Dabo-speak. Listen often enough to him, and actually focus on what he says and you realize that there's no there there. What hell else do you expect from someone his age who still goes by "Dabo?" Cute, eh? Yeah, maybe where he lives.
