How many matches does PSU have to win to clinch the title tonight?

3 if Bo is one of the 3. I think Coon beats Snyder tonight to top it all off. Team race over and captain America has that 10% human emotion letdown and the giant guy keeps the weight on him for a 3-2 win.

Two without bonus to move ahead of 6 point deficit. Need Bo and two others with at least a bonus win to insure win going into 285 is my calculation.

Don't understand why we need any bonus points. If Bo and two others win that's +12. Assuming Snyder wins we'd win by 2.

Because if Zain wins by fall, we can still at least share the title with only 3 wins without a Bo win over Martin.

3 will get it done for sure if Bo is one of the wins.

3 may get it done without Bo if we have at least 2 bonus points in the finals.

2 may get it done if Snyder loses (as long as Bo is one of the two OR we get 2 bonus points).

Unless Snyder gets a pin, then tied. My point was any bonus point would eliminate that possibility.

Yes, but I really don't see Snyder getting bonus in any situation against Coon.

If Bo wins and Snyder scores max points (pins Coon), we only need to find 9.5 points anywhere to win. That can happen in a myriad of ways. Zain pinning Perry gets us 6 right out of the gate. Add a regular decision by ANY other PSU wrestler and we win by 1.

FWIW, I don't see Bo losing to Martin. He's matured and figured out how to win that match every time going forward, even if that means having a lower scoring match. Bo now understands this. I think we saw this new level of maturity in his earlier matches where he resisted the urge to go with a big move in order to ensure the win. Short of Nolf reinjuring himself early in the Hidlay match, it's hard to imagine him winning by only a regular decision.

P.S. I don't see Snyder getting ANY bonus, which lowers our victory threshold even further when Bo wins.

In fairness, Snyder's not a pinner and it will be one of the most amazing things that ever happened in an NCAA tournament if he were to pin Coon. He's also not very likely to even bonus Coon. Obviously there are a lot of IFs here, but Bo beating Martin is the biggest factor for PSU tonight. Doesn't mean we lose if Martin wins, just gets harder, particularly if Snyder also wins.

The magic number is 4, I think... meaning any combination of PSU wins or tOSU loses equaling 4 or more means a Penn State victory.
