These long-time suffering franchises win a professional championship:

(in no order)
New York Rangers - dammit
Cleveland Cavaliers
New Orleans Saints
Philadelphia Eagles
Chicago Cubs
Boston Red Sox
Houston Astros
Chicago Blackhawks
Anaheim Angels
San Francisco Giants

Hopefully I live long enough to witness these win a professional championship:

Pittsburgh Pirates (again), nearly 40 years, with no hope in sight.
Cleveland Browns
Detroit Lions
Texas Rangers
Buffalo Bills
Minnesota Vikings
Buffalo Sabres
St. Louis Blues
Seattle Mariners
Phoenix Suns
LA Clippers
Utah Jazz
Denver Nuggets
N.Y. Jets

It's amazing what great ownership can do for a city. The Houston Astros, 5 years ago, if you would have told me would have a potential dynasty by 2018, I would have called you crazy. Great ownership, and a commitment to winning, is what makes championships.

It is, sadly, for this very reason, that Pittsburgh will never see anything close to a championship in baseball, until somehow ownership is taken from Bob Nutting's hands.

I don't know how old you are or how much longer you plan to walk the earth but good luck with that Cleveland Browns wish. Current management is hopeless.

Have to agree with 'Ro about the Lions winning another NC. That is pretty much at the top of my list.

Hell, I long ago gave up on the notion of Cal getting a National Championship in either football or basketball. The Rose Bowl also seems unlikely. I'd settle for a New Years Day bowl game in football or a Sweet Sixteen appearance in basketball.

I'd also like to see the Lions go to the Sweet Sixteen in basketball, and to the Frozen Four in hockey.

Or Bob Nuttings is threatened that his Nuts will be taken and put in his hands....

The world may end before the brownies win a Lombardi trophy.

While watching yesterday, I was trying to imagine the Detroit Lions playing in the Super Bowl.

Couldn't do it ......... it seems so far out of reach as to be unfathomable.

27 years and counting since a single playoff victory.

I want to see the Nittany Lions win another NC and the Bills win a Super Bowl. Got to see the Bills lose 4 in a row, but need to have them get that championship ring. Got to see both Phillies W. S. Wins too. Got to see the Knicks 2 championships and hope for another soon. Also got to see the NJ Devils win the cup in 2003 in person.

It also helps to be really bad for a while to accumulate those top draft choices. That is assuming you choose wisely. Being on top and staying there is a challenge. Being average is pretty much where you will stay unless you have awesome management. Being able to afford "mistakes" also helps.

I don't really understand your point.
My point is that Bob Nutting is the worst owner in all of sports.

The Denver Nuggets will never ever win a championship. That is pretty much guaranteed.

Not arguing at all. Notice I said that being bad can give you a future leg up with the draft IF you choose wisely. The Astros are a very good example of that. Good or bad there are challenges and it takes smart management to be a winner and stay a winner.

Yea they were committed to losing first. They trusted the process.
