I heard an interesting stat about Pitt football today on a Pittsburgh radio sports show

I heard an interesting Pitt stat on radio station 93.7, The Fan today. This is almost hard to believe. The last time Pitt finished in the final poll top 15 was.....(drum roll) ........ was 1982!

Wow! Great tradition, great pride. Hail to Pitt! Out of the final top 15 for the last 35 friggin years. More to come with Nardouchebag on a long term contract!

They did finish at 15 in AP n 2009, but prior to that was 1982. 2009 was also the last year they finished ranked in top 25

Pitt had some very good teams in the late-70s / early-80s. Was fun to watch the national recognition in our hard-fought battles with them.

Since then, virtually EVERY team in the country has at some point had much better seasons than any of the Pitt seasons. Even KU!
