I know we've only seen him a couple times as starter @49, but...

....anyone else ultra-impressed with how clean Bartlett's shots are? Almost like there is no shot & finish - it's jus one motion.... and it's over. It's from a combination of great technique, extreme quickness and 100% commitment to the shot.

I doubt that opponents to date have adequately scouted BB. His total commitment to shots is great, but, he’s gonna need more than one go to shot to finish in the top 4-5 at BIG’s.

He has a super duck that looks a lot like Mr. Hall. It can be an effective tool against the rangier kids he'll face.

Tim Foley said Mark Hall lacked a variety of attacks.

I've puzzled to myself over adult beverages that TR moved his ball bag to behind the pay wall just so our ilk stopped harassing him.

I mean who pays intermat to just get his rants and v45.0 about fight shorts vs singlets.

You would think if he was breaking any news on it we would be hearing about it

Foley's appeal became more selective.

CT, sorry, but I'm not up to date on the world domination details for the next several years of PSU wrestling.

Where is Van Ness projected?
141 after Nick Lee?
People are saying more like 149/57 given dad’s size. One of the true insiders here probably has better intel. His dad was a middleweight at Rutgers

I'd bet that SVN goes 149 and BB takes a RS next year. waits for N. Lee to graduate, and goes 141 for four years of terror.
Thanks.

I smile when I see the choreography necessary to fit together the best lineups for PSU with so many talented wrestlers at various parts of their careers and projecting their growth, both physically and on the mat.

It can be a problem, but Cael seems to handle it well.

Wherever the hell he wants! His motor makes me tired just watching him. He will be one of the special ones......of that I am quite certain. When you talk about the "Best" at PSU.....you won't need too many fingers to get to him. Definitely no toes.....I'm (almost) never wrong.......Truth :)

Van Ness has said that right now he'd be a 141, but that he expects to be a 149 who possibly grows to 157.

His father (Rod Van Ness) wrestled 167 for Rutgers in the mid/late 1990s.

This seems very likely, if the coaches think Van Ness is ready to start next year as a true freshman. Being on campus already helps toward that.

The one hitch in this is if Bouzakis comes to PSU. He's already 138 but built like a brick outhouse. Not sure if he would stay 141 or go 149. But Cael is good at solving that puzzle.

El-Jefe, if Bouzakis does come, does it seem reasonable that we see Van Ness at 149 for 2 years, during Nic’s senior season and red shirt year, then Van Ness moves to 57, and Nic to 49?

Yes -- or maybe Bouzakis stays 141 and Bartlett goes 149.

IMO your idea is more likely. For most HS 138s I'd say absolutely yes. The difference with Bouzakis is that he's already very muscular -- and while rare we have had a few guys who never outgrew their HS weight in college.

You also have gap years which could be used. I don't think Facundo is coming right away heard he's gonna do a gap year and train

Madden is nothing like the Jammenz idiot, but Patrick Kennedy might want to spend his time wondering when Carter uses up his time at PSU so he feels safe finally getting on the mat. Maybe he can suck down to 165 on the CStarr diet that will be all the craze in the BIG these next few years.

Dude, why be a dick? GTFOH.
Life is great when "you are ignoring content by this member". Just put him on ignore and decide case by case if you need a laugh or not. Why bring that stuff into your life? I love reading a Roar or El Jefe post. Madden et. al, not so much.

Honestly, I don't get the harsh reactions to @jmadden1998 and a couple other Iowa fans. I don't mind good-natured ribbing from opposing fans. Some of it is funny and much of it mirrors stuff many of us post here without objection. I gotta confess that I cringe a little when our own good BWI mates respond like what I've been led to believe is common brashness on HR.

I like Madden and Nashville on here. They both clearly love the sport and follow wrestling nationwide instead of just "all things Iowa". I hope neither decides to quit throwing a little reality at the PSU fandom once in awhile. It is what makes this board a fun place to not only follow PSU, but pick up perspective from rational rivals. When activity, creativity, and knowledge are the criteria this board is the best I have ever fond. HR has the traffic and knowledge but lacks creativity (plus they are just dicks), 34 and counting has knowledge but no traffic,

I’ll take PSU’s development of 165, 174 and 184lb wrestlers over Iowa’s results any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
