someone to explain to me how Jordan was in control over Hall when Jordan's only contact was his leg in the air, held by Hall.

Getting that way from neutral is going to be called neutral but getting that way from bottom and you are still "controlled". Makes no sense. If Hall had just walked him out of bounds it is a guaranteed 1. There was no way the ref was giving 1 and 2.

I didn't catch the replay, but was surprised that Snyder's 1 and 2 was upheld on review.

Control was awarded earlier when Hall was on his knees and Jordan had slipped behind him and it looked like he had a leg in. Actually, Hall had a hold of his leg and fought to a good position to get the reversal. I would have awarded 2 to Jordan, had I been the ref.

Well the ref awarded the escape. Neville's did not move and that is on him. Had the ref not verbally said 1 escape, Nevilles would have probably had the call reversed.

Because the escape is not awarded until the possibility of a reversal is gone. Situations like that are one (not the only) of the reasons I would like to get rid of riding time.

Nevills still had a knee on the mat when the ref awarded the escape, which is the wrong call.

My question exactly! Maybe the ref thought his toes were curled around Mark’s hand.

Also, regarding the ref, I thought this season the mat ref didn't have a say when a call is challenged. In the PSU heavyweight challenge, the review ref seemed to back off and let the mat ref come around to the monitor and review and uphold his own call. What about the new video review protocol am I not understanding?

It's a weird situation. It's hard to award 1 and then 2 when he got the leg while being ridden. Although, the riding time keeps ticking which is really dumb as he is clearly not being ridden. They should change that.
Reversals have always bothered me anyway. Why not give them up if you can get out. Less points than an escape/TD and harder to achieve.
