The ending to that game was a gut punch. That was when Minny was coached by Glen Mason, who for some reason reminded me of Ronny Cox ("Dick" in the Robocop movie). If memory serves, Penn State basically went to sleep in the 2nd half of that game and let Minnesota hang around - the danger of "playing not to lose."

Agreed. Franklin's record against underdogs is actually really good in the last several years especially if you take out the COVID year of 2020. And Joe's record against tOSU was a pretty respectable 8-14.
However the inverse of "Big Wins" certainly cannot be called "Franklinesque" - still hoping we turn the corner- he will have a shot next month if we don't get tripped up
